    Great people, management is always there to help, benefits are great

    Cons

    qbe is a global company so they restrict employees from off site events. Budget is very strict and prevents employees from reaching maximum potential.

    My manager was great but restricted by upper management to provide what was needed for employees to grow with the company.

    Company is based out of Australia. So much of the company was out sourced and good employees lost their job.

    Need to get rid of the "better than other company offices" attitude in Irvine, CA

    Hold yourselves accountable if you are responsible for decisions that blow up. Stop throwing valuable employees that work in your department under the bus to save your hide, when they were only doing what you told them to do, or working with the only resources you made available to them. Don't give a person 3 bricks and then punish them when they fail to make a house.

    WFH option depending on position. The people I work with daily.

    Cons

    Ever changing decisions or lack thereof - Too much too quickly to make things happen to please whomever is calling the shots - recently if you weren't one on board to "make things happen" they made your position non existent yet post same position with two days - beware of speaking out if it doesn't fit their mold.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Listen to the peons - the ones who actually get things done for you - Come down to our level and see how it really works stop trying to shove a square peg in a round hole - you are loosing valuable resources when you need them the most ie people with knowledge - when people who have been with company more than 20+ years are leaving and giving up severance that should tell you something.

    Pay is good, PTO is good

    Cons

    The work itself, management, getting time off approved, disorganization at its finest. The PA office is a sinking ship. It was purchased by QBE a few years ago and has since been in a downward spiral. Lay off after lay off after layoff. The upper management is horrible. They want to be your friend but that about it. You would get a better response if you asked them about a new movie review or what they did over the weekend than you would if you asked them something work specific.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    To be proactive and not wait until the last minute. Be responsive when staff members come to you with an issue, don't wait for the issue to be address in 4 months. Be more concerned with work and productivity than your weekend plans.
