Pros
I enjoyed the regular customers and we made our store as fun as possible for all the employees. Other stores in our area were ran a lot different than ours.
Cons
Our area manager was incompetent. She didn't support her store managers and would berate the employees when she was on-site.
Advice to Senior Management
The area managers need to be more open to feedback from their store managers. They don;t know what's truly going on at the store-level and seem to have no desire to find out.
Pros
Nice to have a steady job
Cons
No growth opportunities
No suggestion box
Advice to Senior Management
Management is fine. People at corporate are out of touch with their field employees. Takes them to long to make any decisions.
Pros
Benefit package, flexible work week, Sundays off.
Cons
Upper Management humiliates employees regardless of their position. Upper Management will cuss and yell at you in front of your subordinates making you feel incompetent. Upper Management tells people to do things and then they won't back employees up and that employee will get terminated for following their instructions. Upper Management tell Managers to terminate people that they "don't like". Upper Management manages by fear and intimidation. Many good, hard working employees have left this company do to some of the upper management.
Advice to Senior Management
Stop allowing upper management to hire people that they know. Go back to the mom and pop operation they once had believing that the company was one big family. Get rid of the upper management that is managing by fear and intimidation. People can't afford to leave their jobs so they stay these days and to have to put up with what they do is difficult.
Pros
medical coverage is offered and ok
Cons
Horrid Management and not helpful to community.
