I worked at QEK full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

There are many good people who work for the company and QEK provided me with good work experiences for several years that helped me prepare for next steps in my career.

    Cons

QEK is a fine place to work if you are looking for a job but if you want a career and a company to grow with this is not the place. There are few promotions within the company and when you do get one they do not compensate accordingly. I experienced one "promotion" that came with a title and added responsibilities but no added pay. Once you reach management level advancement opportunities are much more difficult to come by.

    Advice to Management

Promote your good people from within, and pay them accordingly!

I have been working at QEK full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Co workers, some really dedicated employees are left, just a few. I really don't have must more to comment on in the Pros area.

    Cons

Overworked, No home worklife balance, expected to do more with less, this has been going on for quite some time. Must relocate with no other options, HR has proven to not really be for the employees, only to hire young staff with no care for current employees.

    Advice to Management

Stop adding to the work load

    Pros

They work within the limits of the law.

    Cons

Company officials have no idea what the job entails. They are only concerned with their main contract and have no regard for their employees.

    Advice to Management

    Be honest!!!!!

Treatment of employees is secretive and leaves a feeling of dishonesty when dealing with them.

    I worked at QEK full-time

    Pros

None that I can think of and I have given it quite a bit of thought.

    Cons

To many to list - I really was offended by a question asked at my surprise dismissal.

    Advice to Management

Be honest and open with your employees. Be careful what is said to avoid bad feelings on the part of your former employees. I could have left with good feelings because of what was said I didn't.

    I worked at QEK full-time

    Pros

I cannot think of one nice thing to say about this company.

    Cons

EVERYTHING! They are so cheap. Went without an office cleaner for months. No growth potential unless you are an executive. Your annual anniversary is never acknowledged. Plan on staying at minimum pay, which is grossly under the average median salary in the metro Detroit area! The holidays are great ... watch as the executives dance around whispering about their bonuses when everyone else has made the same thing for years.

    Advice to Management

Quit and let Penske bring in new management who knows what they are doing!!

I worked at QEK full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

If you need a job t hat has benefits, and gets you out of something like retail, I guess this works.

    Cons

Supervisors and management in certain groups have no idea what their employees do. Immediate supervisors are permitted to bully employees and behave unprofessionally. Pay is no better than working a retail job part time. The schedule is -not- flexible. HR is heavily biased and often sides with members of the management team that they are on friendly terms with.

    Advice to Management

Learn what your employees do before you try to implement changes or make unreasonable demands. Also, a few courses on how to behave professionally in the workplace might help.

    Pros

    It's a job. Lol. Yup. A job.

    Cons

Found out I'm getting paid almost 50 percent below the market norm for the job and skills I've come to learn and do. Story of our lives right?

    Advice to Management

Need sufficient communication with employees, administer reviews, benefits are...standard.
