Pros
They offer benefits which are not matched by many companies out there
Cons
Can be a very tough environment to work in. People tend to hoard information and data if there is any feeling that information may help someone else for fear they will loose out on compensation/merit increase. This creates counterproductive environment.
Advice to Senior Management
Judge people on technical merits not politically motivated connections.
Pros
Benefits package, interact with intelligent people
Cons
Long work days, sometimes hard to get decisions made due to the number of people that feel they need to be involved
Pros
very nice co-workers. nice schedule/place.
Cons
not as challenging as other companies
Pros
Qualcomm is in the cutting edge of technology. You get to work in the latest technology and with a group of highly qualified people. They have lot of resources, giving employees access to wide variety of technical or market related information.
Cons
It is bit chaotic sometimes, not very smooth and organized for a large company. Lot of process can be improved to help people focus on work more and less on procedural aspects.
Pros
good compensation , good work environment
Cons
lack of communication with management team
Advice to Senior Management
more open communication is required
Pros
Great Benefits, Smart People, Excellent Industry
Cons
Too much politics, promotions based on friendships vs talent
Pros
Good place to work, can learn a lot
Cons
My team is always busy and its always overloaded with pressue
Advice to Senior Management
Please distribute the pressure evenly and fairly
Pros
Stable company with strong balance sheet. Benefits are very good with 2 tiers based on your position. Lots on push on innovation by getting into adjacent markets but not yet materialized into revenue streams. QCT and Licensing division are the crown jewels bringing in 90% + of the revenue and profits.
Cons
Company has become top heavy. Too many Directors and above. Decision making authority resides only in higher management levels. Relentless focus on execution at QCT, know folks who routinely work 12+ hour days.
Advice to Senior Management
Management decisiveness needed. Need to put more resources in QCT which is the cash cow and cut poorly performing BUs and ventures. Company has become too top heavy and current hierarchal structure needs to be revisited. Poor stock performance is also a big de motivator.
Pros
Very dynamic and fast paced work environment. Collegues are very competent and work long hours. Benefits package is good. Vast majority of folks have their own private office (instead of cube). Management is honest and ethical. Not a whole lot of politics or bickering that I am aware of amonst the rank and file. Review process is quite fair and open and happens every 6months. Lot of visibility at upper management level in terms of who is working on what and hence, definitely not a place for slackers to go and hide somewhere.
Cons
Not much in terms of career growth and promotions are hard to get. Merely being brilliant is not enough. Be ready to put in the extra effort if you want to go to the next level.
Advice to Senior Management
None that I can think of.
Pros
only training are good but no real application/ experience of learned things
Cons
lagging technologies used. it sucks , third class work. no good management. very biased decision making. no proper system.
Advice to Senior Management
dont be biased. improve first urself in terms of technology. admire one's good work.
