ProsThey believe in quality of life, only 45 hours a week for managers. They are always trying new ideas to improve. Great food in an awesome environment.

ConsCan become mundane, not many opportunities for executive advancement.

    Promising that really delivers!

    Assistant Manager (Former Employee)
    Frankfort, KY

ProsPromotions from with-in. They are a large company with a family-like attitude. Paid vacation. Great training and continuous employee development at all levels. Lucrative bonuses.

ConsThe work is hard, management of a restaurant is demanding no matter where you are.

Advice to Senior ManagementKeep up the good work!

    Loved it!

    Anonymous Employee (Former Employee)

ProsGreat people to work with, and management is caring.

Qdoba Corporate does not care about its employees.

    Anonymous Employee (Current Employee)

ProsChance to move up quickly but only when they fire someone. Then they force you into a position your not ready for then fire you for performance.

ConsNo communication. All upper management is out for themselves and can give 2 you know what about people below them.

Advice to Senior ManagementGet a personality so you can actually care about employees who work hard for you.

    Great food, management sucks!

    Server (Former Employee)
    Fort Wayne, IN

ProsThe food was good. The customers were great!

ConsManagement did not really interact with employees. They did not reward employees. Employee could work a 12 hour shift without a break or even a thank you from an manager.

Advice to Senior ManagementReward employees that work hard!

    Tampa Qdoba

    Anonymous Employee (Former Employee)
    Tampa, FL

ProsGreat upper management, dedicated to service, fast training,

ConsSometimes new hires are BAD hires. there are no benefits unless you're management (which granted is normal) but even when you are it's only 1 week PTO and 3 sick days...not a great way to entice people to stay. The stores need much more cleaning than time allowed and it was really annoying to watch upper management give in to scamming customers. raises only once every 6 months

Advice to Senior ManagementDon't hire management without a trial run...and maybe think about adding in more chances for raises?

Not what I originally signed up 4 it's a completely different company

    Restaurant Manager (Current Employee)
    Baltimore, MD

ProsGreat training program, competitive pay scale for upper management. It's a rapidly growing brand with great growth potential. All food items are prepped in house each and every day. Very fresh!!! It's a very rewarding company to work for as long as you do your job right and bring in profit and beat last years sales. Bonus plan is simple but awesome incentives for RM i.e. You bonus on 4 areas (labor & food cost) paid each month $125 each; (Beating net sales & higher profit over last year) incentive $ over $ with a cap of 40% your salary. PTO earned each pay cycle so no waiting a year before you can take time off.

ConsIt's great if you don't mind walking on eggshells. There labor Matrix is designed in a fantasy world. Thank god I run a mid-high volume store but if you have a low volume one, they expect you to run the entire store with as little as 2 to 3 employees on a shift. They also say they are growing and going to double in size in 7 yrs. Well how can they come close to doing that when they closed 63 stores down a little while back. Plus they are laying off managers from all levels up to district managers in markets that are doing very well. You are just a number to them and if you don't hit your goals you are as good as gone. Last but not least if your company is growing and taking care of your people that made you guys who you are today why at yearly reviews time did most managers received excellent reviews but was told the company is not allowing raises at this time or was given a very small lump sum check ( I am talking about $200/$300) and was told it was you raise paid in full. Spending has came to a halt to skew the investors in to thinking we have more money than we do. We should be fixing equipment and repairing things ordering new things giving raises instead of holding money to give a false sense of security. RM's are expected to work 80-90 hours to hit their numbers in some cases. There's no communication from store level on up. Not for you if you want a personal life.

Advice to Senior Management1) You need to take time and review the labor matrix. You can't give great service with no employee
    2) STOP trying to grow the brand so fast all that does it hurt the brand as a whole. (Qdoba and Jack-in-the-box)
    3) Take great care of your managers that have gotten you too where you are today i.e. in 1995 (1) store 2014 (about 640)
    4) Don't try to replace great assistance with new and unexperienced team leads i.e. shift supervisors. I agree you need team leads but not to eliminate assistance with two low-paid team leads
