    Pros

The company was very up to speed on graphics memory. Lots of interaction with processor vendors from top firms made the job a very good networking opportunity

    Cons

Management was poor and after a few months of leading employees in a nowhere direction, the bankruptcy plan was en route

    Advice to Management

Please focus on important projects, cut costs by selecting appropriate projects and people. Don't hide the numbers, they will catch you sooner or later

Great lower cost location, very good working atmosphere

    Cons

Brutal industry and very cost sensitive, no financial backing

    Advice to Management

Should have sought a financial partner much earlier

    Pros

Great group team work, they were very goal oriented. Goals were clearly posted weekly for all employees to see what they were working towards.

    Cons

Laidoff wothout notice when I arrived at work.

    Advice to Management

I am not sure what management style was in place but it did not work.

    Pros

    Great benefits and vacation package.

    Cons

If you are a hard worker, the management team will utilize your talents. However, they don't hold under performers accountable. There is a lot managers who don't have leadership and technical skills to be successful in the marketplace.

    Advice to Management

Hold every one accountable managers as well as individual contributors.

    Pros

Decent information sharing, and opportunity to learn what you wanted from various sources of people there. Also opportunity to change job roles and goto other areas if there was an opening. I really liked working there. Generally most people engineering, manufacturing or technician seem happy until the last 6-10 months before closing.

    Cons

Hmmm... no one seem to take the hint that things were really bad. I think some of the mid management convinced themselves that things would pick back up. The high level management on site should have taken care of their people better, but I'm willing to bet that they might have got their pockets padded from Germany HQ.

    Advice to Management

Since they are no longer there. This advice is to all high level management, take care of your workers more and not stock holders and things will be better in the long run.

    Pros

Good exposure to semiconductor manufacturing as this is a copy exact facility. Opportunities in improving manufacturing are abundant.

    Cons

Poor Leadership. Can't even copy processes from R&D sites without messing up. Senior management were made up of great engineers but are not good managers. You can get fired for thinking out of the box and challenging management's infinite wisdom.

    Advice to Management

    Jump off a cliff.

    Pros

They paid me for the first 9 years,

    Cons

They shut the doors and gave me (and about 1000 other people) 45 minutes to leave with no benefits, no severance, nothing.

    Advice to Management

Next time, don't let the company crumble under your watch

    Pros

Good people who cared about each other and did good work. Good pay and benefits, some room for career growth and challenges.

    Cons

German management did not do a good job of keeping employees informed about what was happening with the company. Germany interfered too much with the management and operations of the US companies. Too slow to keep up with the technology shrinks, and lagged behind competitors. Did not make the hard choices to reduce costs.

    Advice to Management

Thanks for an interesting experience, and good luck with your future careers! I think US management should have done a better job of getting the true information from Germany and sharing it with the employees.

    Pros

Great people with room to grow in the org. Good life and work balance, great benefits with good pay. overall a great place

    Cons

Company is in Chapter 11 and liquidating the company assets. It was definitely a child to the parent company in Germany. A lot of red tape with no consideration for its subsidiaries.

    Advice to Management

Good luck in the future as this should be a great learning experience for all involved.
