    Pros

QNA supports the further education of its employees through a variety of financial and career-path oriented means by offering reimbursement for classes and supplemental material.

    Cons

No known "Cons" for QNA. A large percentage of QNA's contract are government-related. If you were unable to gain a security clearance, that would present a problem in those instances where it was required.

    Advice to Management

In the event that a contract is not re-aquired by QNA, better employment assistance would be appreciated.

    Pros

Benefits packages are pretty good. Work with good people

    Cons

The company does not go above and beyond in any area. Is satisfied with "okay"

    Pros

The managers tend to care about their employees, and the company has a fairly social atmosphere - from free coffee stations to ice cream trucks and group luncheons, they try to establish a social culture where much business is often done "around the water cooler." Management and many of the employees really believe in the mission of the products created, and the base technology is fun to work on.

    Cons

The company is made up of several small companies that don't yet know how to efficiently work together and/or share resources. With a foundation in military/government technology, funding can sometimes be a struggle. There is very little done for employee development and expectations are not well set. Goals and performance reviews are afterthoughts if thought of at all.

    Advice to Management

Centralize all processes, train employees, select strong direction and have management enforce and push that direction throughout the organization.

    Pros

Good Benefits (health, Vision, Dental). and not much else.

    Cons

Body shop. as long as the seat is filled management is happy regardless of skill or qualifications. Management change has ran the company into the ground. The only benefit besides the people you work with is Coffee. No Company Parties ect. ect. No incentive to rise above the rest. Never promotes from within. Company structure is in state of constant upheaval. Oh! and bring your own pen's and pencils. 3/4 of the building is empty but still doubled up in offices.

    Advice to Management

Bad management flows down hill all the way to PM level. Ask the workers what is really going on, and not in a "Town Hall" environment, No one is going to slash their own wrist at one of these jokes. There is no benefits to working here. We have no direction. And no clue what is going on. their is ZERO team building. ZERO incentive to rise above the rest. and no plan to retain the talent that is still with the company.

    Pros

People get a lot of responsibilities that you don't get in the larger corporations. Nice people. Lot of breadth of experience to be had here and some interesting stuff to work on that you would never get to see in larger companies. Benefits are industry average for this size of a company.

    Cons

(in my opinion) You get typecasted very quickly when working here and there is almost NO opportunity to move up the food chain. If you are hired as a low level engineer, you will be a low level engineer here for the rest of your career. Upper management (in my opinion) is full of bureaucrats that know nothing about engineering or the products that make up the core competency of the business. Upper management (in my opinion) seems to get hired more based on their resume than whether they have any good ideas or not. The company (in my opinion) seems on its way down and has been going downhill for some years now. At this point they seem to be just cutting off limbs to stay alive - i don't project they will be around much longer.

    Pros

Work load isn't bad anymore, but..... See cons.

    Cons

Horrible benefits. The benefits and pay raises are based on program not company. I do not get the same benefits as does those on other contracts within the same company. It's likely the next contract in my area will be worse. This is just a job shop. The management know nothing about the technical side of the business.

    Advice to Management

Clear out the dead weight and promote the best employees otherwise there won't be a company.

    Pros

Great people, reasonable benefits, products that save lives - important stuff!

    Cons

Market downturn severely impacting this business. Growth will take a new look at what you can do. If a recurring revenue stream cannot be found - sell what you can.

    Advice to Management

Look to other markets but preserve FMI legacy. It will come back.

    Pros

About the only "pro" (if you can call it that) to working for QNA is that you can share by on a minimum amount of work if you want to. If you're related to someone in your leadership (sic) structure, you'll do OK.

    Cons

Used to be a good company to work for. Quickly went downhill. Benefits got slashed, morale took a dive, and promotions and raises became rare as hen's teeth. Yet somehow, after saying there's no money for raises, they hire half a dozen bodies to occupy seats. Half my leads spent their day either running their own side businesses or hawking their religion books. If you're an enthusiastic, hard working engineer wanting a challenging, rewarding career, look somewhere else.

    Advice to Management

Follow Michael Dell's advice to Steve Jobs: shut it down and give the money back to the stockholders. That might be the only thing that you'll have done right in a long time.

    Pros

Was pretty laid back work environment, coworkers were great.

    Cons

Not many perks, mediocre benefits, not much future for the company unless they make a drastic change.
