    Pros

Great product although is is only one and has some age to it although QLIKSENSE is now out and appears to be better.
Good money if you over produce.

    Cons

Marketing and lead generation is the worst ever experienced for a company that size resulting in new hire turn over at an industry high of 39%. The Oracle lead sales Mgmt. is no fun either unless your are one of the boys on Joe D. team.
Reps spend most of their time updating SFDC and Sales 360 and doing reviews of SOE, SOI's that literately there is little time for selling there.. The process is all consuming. the new model is to hire young inexperienced sales folks and pay them less money and just work the process. the challenge however is zero leads coming in creates a vacuum of need and expectations.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Change it all out for new leadership soon.

    Pros

Very interesting product, shows well, serious issues around Big Data and they don't seem to be listening.

    Cons

North American sales leadership are bizarre, unethical and as slimy as they come, if you're considering a sales position, I would recommend that you RUN unless you just have to have a job. Trust me, it's worse than where you're at now. Politics are unbelievable, they fire people who blow out their number because they don't like the mix of deals, they fire sales management if they don't think they travel enough, even though they hit their number, etc. etc. etc. The CEO claims that they will never be like that big company run by Larry and he's right, they're even sleazier and they'll never come close to achieving anything close to that company.

They grew too quickly too soon, now they are suffering. Marketing need to focus more on Big Data.

    Pros

They did well to grow so fast by spending too much. Now they need to maintain by investing and marketing Big Data, Hassop etc.

    Cons

They have too many employees and marketing has been hype, now they are suffering. Marketing need to focus on Big Data and this has to be done fast. You have too many smaller competitors emerging fast. All Big Data. Focus on big data fast before one of the smaller competitors take your customers.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Develo your product a bit more, focus on big data. Marketing - move forward. Data Discovery is done!

I have been working at Qlik full-time

    Pros

West Coast has some of best weather in the country. You can drive around and see nice sights before customer meetings. There are good restaurants to dine at with partners.

    Cons

West coast mgt. is so insecure that they eventually trash everyone to save their job. West Coast knows how to "manage up". They blame everything on growing pains and brag how they learned everything they know from Larry.....3-4 months in, most new West Coast folks are wondering what they got themselves into.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Seems like the CEO has checked out and Larry's cronies spew their hyperbole and trash all over the place. It's like a mafia has taken over.

    Pros

Qlik pioneered in memory BI. Qlik won a great place to work award back in 2007-2008. Qlik is a global company. Qlik has a Swedish heritage.

    Cons

Mgt. has a turn and burn mentality in this region. Its like working at a seedy hotel. Salesteam, partners, and customers now look at Tableau and Spotfire as a very attractive alternative.

    Pros

There are new reps quitting every month and there are new reps starting every month. This means you will meet lots and lots of new people! The management enjoys a good manipulation. This means I have a future in used car sales!

    Cons

The turnover is so epic that even the HR VP is quitting!

I worked at Qlik full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

The underlying technology was industry leading. Shame R&D have not moved with the market and there is a real threat that QV will become a boring, same same BI vendor (if it has not already happened)

    Cons

The strong amazing culture has disappered since they went IPO. The core values are now ignored and along with ex SAP Business Objects management came a massive change in the way employees are treated.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Go back to the core values.

    I worked at Qlik

    Pros

Company meetings are in international locations
Products can do some amazing things if pitching to the right audience
    Not much micro-management (my experience)

    Cons

Management preaches a big family, yet fires managers at Christmas Parties, or the day before they are to leave for the company trip for a week... very inconsistent. Also the replacements to the fired individuals show up the next day, so it is all planned.

Management has no (BI) industry experience except for this company, and it shows.

The product was leading edge 5 years ago, and now others have caught up. Qliktech had a chance to be a major player, but it is over now. There was a buzz about an IPO, but who knows when/if that will happen. They claim other competitors being bought is a victory for them, but the reality is they got passed over and now the competition is stronger than ever.
There are worse things than being bought or even going under... they are dying a slow death.

From a career perspective, knowing Qlikview won't get you far outside of Qliktech.
Working for BOBJ/MSTR/Cognos wil provide you with better skills while earning more money.
When the end comes for Qliktech, you will wish you'd been someplace else.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Stop living in a fantasy world, where you insist you are doing everything right, yet the sales are a fraction of their competition. The 'fastest growing BI company' every year is NOT good as it shows slow incremental growth. Other BI companies can not have a 50% growth rate because they are already dominating the market.
Any suggestion as to how other companies are doing it is met with resistance. You actually promote that the competition is 'failing' when you get a replacement deal, yet that month the leading BI competitors sell 2x more than you will sell for the year. if you keep doing the same things over and over, you will wind up with the same result.
