    Pros

The culture is very relaxed, very open to asking questions. The benefits are very good, very reasonable, but very poor if you have a long commute.

    Cons

Other departments seem to look down upon others. Very little room for advancement, though they promote their hire within policy early and often.

I have been working at Quad/Graphics full-time (more than 8 years)

    Pros

Plenty of overtime available. Chances for minor advancement. Very physical active job. Time off if you can afford it. Ok clinic with 10 copayment

    Cons

Management does care about you. There are no excused absences or sick days. Extremely poor employee moral. Management plays favorites. Long 12 hour shifts, operators don't always get breaks. Rotate days nights every 4 months, ends of the week every 2 months. Poor pay, poor rasises. Revolving door of new techs and temps. High insurance deductibles. No radios, only 2 20 min breaks per 12 hour shift. Management only cares numbers. Thankless job. Extreme disconnect between employee and management. They expect perfection.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Pay your employees and treat them better and you wouldn't have this mass exodus from your company

I have been working at Quad/Graphics full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

Well, it's stable; I'm never worried about losing my job. There is a lot of free time, too, if you're into that.

    Cons

There are procedures on procedures on procedures. Getting anything gone requires a back flip or two; while the company wants to be easy for customers to work with, it never is because of this. Also, very few employees are happy or satisfied with their job, leading to a high turnover rate and a generally grumpy office.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Controlling every aspect of your employee's days leads to an uninspired workforce which is slow to innovate and hard to please.

I have been working at Quad/Graphics

    Pros

The company is working hard to move up and keep going in a competitive work industry. They manage to make sure employees have decent healthcare, access to 401k plans, rehab help if needed, decent activities throughout the year like company parties, and raises if you show you can stand out and do your job well.

    Cons

Delayed w-2 forums. HR issues are not always addressed in a timely matter.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

I would go through the plants and ask the employees if they are having any issues or concerns, to maybe fix reasonable concerns and weed out the ones who can't be content with being lucky enough to actually have a decent job that is not flipping burgers. I'm sure there are plenty of hardworking people who would be thankful to have a career at Quad. We are team Quad, and we are in this together. If your not in it for the win, then get out .

it is a very stable job with lots of hours and overtime oppertunities.

    Cons

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

ease up a little, make sure you follow the law and allow everyone a proper lunch away from the work area. everyone needs a break don't work people 12 hours 7 days a week, and don't look at them like they are lazy when they want one or two days off a week.

One of their values is "Trust in Trust". When they took over the plant I was working at they where never truthful about their plans for that plant. They ended up closing that plant after telling us that they were not going to. It was their plan all along.
