I worked at Quantenna Communications, Inc. full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Good to work. Very good HR team to help you work there. Executives are very competitive and good. And technically strong to lead the company.

    Cons

To much politics going on... To succeed the competition, should hire a ethnically right person to lead the small team. A couple of wrong guys will destroy the other guy's great contribution and efforts.

    Advice to Management

Listen to right guys opinion who really cares the company.

I have been working at Quantenna Communications, Inc. full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

I have worked for the company for more than a year as a Consultant and now I am a full time employee. I have driven myself to come to the pace of the people working in my team, specially as a fresher, an ideal environment to start a career as a Verification Engineer. There are a lot of opportunities to grow and Company has good prospects given the company as a whole performs well. Company provides meals and is having a nice walkway around for a good stroll.

    Cons

Highly performance driven environment, small teams so no discrete portfolio maintained for the things you may work on which is good and bad.

I have been working at Quantenna Communications, Inc. full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Pros: Small company, you know when you have made a contribution. You get the opportunity to work on projects from end to end. Culture, tools and processes are evolving from a startup level to scale up the company, so there is the opportunity to influence creation of the work environment that you want to work in.

    Cons

Too many snacks in the break room, they try to make it healthy by proving fruit, but I eat the candy bars. Hours can be long. Tools and processes are evolving from a startup level to scale up the company, so you cannot relay on having all the tools in place without helping bring up the tools.

    Advice to Management

    Stay focused on Key Customers.

I have been working at Quantenna Communications, Inc. full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Flat hierarchy. Open culture which promotes cross functional collaboration. Company built on sound technical expertise. Strong customer centric design methodologies.

    Cons

Teams are lean and hence portfolio of products are few. Office politics is prevalent with few key members failing to get the recognition tehy deserve and others who were promoted creating executive overhead without a team growing and needing the position.

I have been working at Quantenna Communications, Inc. full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Will speak about my experience as a software engineer only, but I think the same applies to other teams. Innovative workplace, well known among industry professional, on the edge of transforming from startup into an IPO company. Lots of interesting work to do, and a real opportunity to affect product development direction for all engineers. Multi-national, vibrant development team, company has offices all around the world. Management all have engineering background as far as I can tell, so they are involved in development itself. Working environment (at Fremont office at least) is very comfortable, company does everything to make your stay at the office as comfortable as possible so you wouldn't want to go home.

    Cons

Software development processes are not very well established. Company coming out of its start-up phase, and a lot of practices which were OK for a smaller development team do not suit a growing company. Sometimes job requires to spent a lot of time working, in the office or elsewhere. These periods can be short for someone to whom spending a lot of time at work is very inconvenient (needs more time with kids or whatever), but these periods can not be avoided altogether. So plan accordingly.

    Advice to Management

Improve software development and communication practices, abandon legacy development tools while its not too late.
