I have been working at Quest Diagnostics

    Pros

Benefits, even though we have a set schedule the management is very flexible as long as an employee does not abuse.

    Cons

I really don't have any cons except for the health care change
When health care goes up in reality you are taking a cut in pay.

I worked at Quest Diagnostics full-time (more than 10 years)

    Pros

The employees are all great work with and know how to work as a team. Everyone helps eachother out for the good of the patients.

    Cons

Management is terrible. Very disorganized and most managers are two faced. They say one thing to your face and something completely different behind your back. Not very customer service orientated and set bad examples for employees.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Management needs to change completely. Human resources should start fresh with all new people who actually care about the good of the patient.

I have been working at Quest Diagnostics full-time (more than 10 years)

    Pros

Benefits are hard to beat. Time off with Pay is pretty decent, as long as you have been there for awhile

    Cons

The lack of trust between employees and upper management. Since the lay-offs, the work has increased 10-fold for the employees that do continue to stay. Even though the benefits are still pretty good, the company is slowly diminishing these as well.

    Pros

Growth is a great thing within the company. If you see yourself moving up then Quest is the right place for you.

    Cons

I don't have an cons really. Quest was recognized as the best place to work multiple years. That speaks volumes

I have been working at Quest Diagnostics full-time (more than 10 years)

    Pros

Unlimited opportunities for growth if you have the right attitude. Great benefits. Annual Bonus.

    Cons

May find yourself doing a lot more than your manager but getting paid a lot less. Hours not flexible so work-life balance can be challenging. No raises past few years.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Leadership needs to adapt to the new more productive Quest culture and also chip in and work harder. Lead by example.

I worked at Quest Diagnostics full-time (more than a year)

    Pros

Most co-workers are similarly dissatisfied, so it's easy to find someone to complain to or commiserate in your misery. Everyone starts off with 15 days TOP (time off paid) which increases to 20 days after 1 yr. Keep in mind this includes sick days and personal days. The company only has 6 paid holidays per yr.

    Cons

Strange corporate culture - either you're been there more than 20 yrs, or less than 2 yrs. Not too much flexibility - for example even if you come in early, you can't leave early. Working from home is possible with the right manager, but generally not available for everyone even with laptops. Even though Quest is in the health industry, health insurance for employees are a joke - the "best" health plan has a $1500 deductible. As long as you sit at your desk, even if you're on your phone and shopping online all day, as long as you're a good bullshitter you can keep your job.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Focus more on how to grow the company organically instead of through acquisition. There should be more focus on growing the company, instead of cutting costs to meet numbers. There's a reason customers are running to LabCorp - when they go to a LabCorp PSC, there's a receptionist, phlebotomist, and billing person (3 people). When you go to a Quest PSC, there's a long wait time because there's only 1 phlebotomist picking up the phone, checking in patients, drawing blood, and verifying insurance paperwork.

I have been working at Quest Diagnostics

    Pros

I really enjoy what I do. It's no one looking over your shoulder so you can feel free. The benefits are great. I absolutely love the TOP time. Vacation or leave when you want.

    Cons

You have to stay in your position for 9 months before they let you transfer to a new position. I'm so ready to move to a new office hopefully closer to home

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

If an open position becomes available you should let persons that's willing to move. Everything else is cool. I love working for Quest!!
