    Pros

Benefits are decent, good room for growth in multiple areas of the company. Lots of training available depending on the department you are in.

    Cons

Resources are constantly taken away from you. Expected to do a lot more with a lot less. Micro managed across the board

I worked at Quest Diagnostics part-time

    Pros

I was able to work on my own with headphones in, unbothered. Nice lunchroom and co-workers were very nice. Lots to learn but everyone is helpful.

    Cons

It was a night shift, which sucked. Also, quest was in the middle of shifting around so lots of people got laid off and there was absolutely no job security. There were no benefits either.

    Advice to Management

Be honest and up front with your employees. If you're going to lay us all off, let us know asap so we're not left to pick up our lives off of the floor. Thanks but no thanks.

I worked at Quest Diagnostics (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Plenty of work here to keep you busy. Always learning something new. Some really great hardworking people here.

    Cons

Too many reorganizations. High turnover. Some senior Management is disconnected from their staff. Poor morale.

    Advice to Management

Support your team. Get to know your employees and their names.

    Pros

A great group of folks to work with and lead. The staff always put in their best. The staff in place when I started was of high quality.

    Cons

Total disconnect from the customer we were trying to serve and the product. In my five years of employment, our Product Manager met with maybe five customers.

    Advice to Management

Set the proper expectations with everyone and improve the lines of communications at all levels.

    Pros

    Nice teammates to work with.

    Cons

Upper management clueless to how position worked. They decided to add metrix to the job qualification even though it was difficult to measure what was accomplished within a day.

I have been working at Quest Diagnostics (More than a year)

    Pros

They help with furthering your education in addition to a discounted education with Capella University. Benefits are awesome as well.

    Cons

I love.my job, but it sucks that it's mainly second shift. The benefits are pricey, but nowadays every company's benefits are pricey.

I worked at Quest Diagnostics full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Great place to get mentored (if you actively sought it out), great place to get your education paid for. Amazing benefits and time off.

    Cons

The culture was important at a high level, and it was filtered down to employees, but it was ineffective at best. The changes the company went through should have been made extremely open as the changes were being discussed. No employee wants to be blind sided by corporate change. It worked to my benefit, but it might be something to think about for the remaining employees.

    Advice to Management

Your employees are your best asset. Don't just pay them lip service with the culture. Engage them! If they felt they had a voice in the change, even if they didn't like it, even if they weren't even listened to, it would make them feel valued.
