    Pros

Health benefits, 401k, PTO, flexibility in some departments. Corporate discounts available at some retailers, recognition points can be traded for awards and gift cards. Bonuses and raises yearly.

    Cons

High stress, too-high workload with no support, unfriendly and jaded people, rampant favoritism, dirty politics, missing or unavailable managers. Re-orgs every couple of months and huge staff reductions. No trust in senior management, completely unstable environment overall. High level people are bailing in droves, and with good reason.

    Advice to Management

Get it together. You've lost your top talent along with the confidence of everyone else who was left after the last re-org catastrophe. Get rid of that CIO.

    Pros

Time off with pay was good.

    Cons

The longer you are there, the worse the raises get.

    Advice to Management

They need to get supervisors in there that are trained in management and know the steps in there fields ,not just get employees to do a managers job when they have no clue about management.

    Pros

benefits and paid time off is good (assuming you can get your time off request approved), pretty much comparable to the other big corporations out there.

    Cons

definite gender and salary bias, and definitely a bully atmosphere, which are ignored by management, who simply ignores problems until they go away. Company states zero tolerance for bullying, but they do not enforce this portion of their policy. They also fail to attempt to rectify salary inconsistencies especially in the 'front-line' positions where their older female employees earn much less than the younger male ones for the same type of job.

    Advice to Management

Get some training in how to handle bullies and other interoffice drama; and while it may seem impossible to do, try to listen to your employees' concerns and requests for help. Provide some guidance when it is asked for, rather than reacting in a 'pay-back for causing problems' mentality, and please watch who you make fun of, it will always catch up to you.

    Pros

Enjoyed working with the competent professional people

    Cons

I survived multiple layoffs as a contractor. Unstable work environment. Saw long term employees laid-off.

    Advice to Management

Actually start caring about people that work for your company - they are not just cold numbers on a cost cutting reorganization spreadsheet. You do not generate employee loyalty.

    Pros

Good salary and benefits, well established company. Senior management on the lab side seems to have a clear focus on how they want to move forward with the company.

    Cons

I worked on the IT side selling the EHR solution. This division was more of a burden than competitive advantage to the lab side of the business. We experienced a major RIF, went through multiple extremely poor managers specifically at the senior management level. The nail in the coffin was when they brought back a manager that was fired during the RIF and and promoted them to a senior level position. The new senior level employee is not qualified for the role and has caused a mass exodus from senior sales reps. The IT team also continues to spend an exuberant amount of money on a marketing team that can not understand even the basic principles of sales. "Go sell stuff" is not a strategy, and not listening to your sales team that has over 50 years of experience in the industry is reason for concern. It's too bad the product was decent, but instead of spending money to develop it to remain competitive in the market place, they decided to cut costs at the expense of existing and potential customers. As stated, poor upper management, a clueless marketing team with too much overhead, and a lack of focus is why this division is a sinking ship.

    Advice to Management

Clean house on the EHR side of marketing and sales management, have a discussion with the CEO to right the ship and closely align the two divisions, and recommend the EHR sales director/manager and the EHR marketing team to take two weeks off and then retire.
