    Pros

Lots of work, independent-no managers looking over your shoulder, the harder you work, the more money you'll make

    Cons

Lots of miles and maintenance on your vehicle, often worked late into evenings and on weekends which was a con for me because of lost time with my family

  2. Amateurs! Growing company, unable to keep their drivers busy.

    Pros

Quicksilver uses Kenworth trucks and keeps them in good running condition. No slip seating. Good work, when you can get it, nice people to work with.

    Cons

Was making good money last year and am now getting half the work and half the pay. They've hired too many drivers, leased too many trucks and don't have the work to keep everyone busy. This is especially true around the first of the year. I don't know what the sales staff is thinking that they cant increase sales for that time, but they are losing drivers and morale and confidence in the company is in the toilet. There is no room for advancement and any suggestions to improve fall on deaf ears.

The offer NO benefits, NONE! They will tell you that you get a paid vacation, one week after one year. The vacation pay has nothing to do with how much you make on a daily basis. $85 per day for vacation pay. That's less than half of what guys make daily. $50 boot allowance. Nothing more. No health, dental or vision. No PTO, no 401 K. Pretty Grim. No over time pay, you're paid by the load.

    Advice to Management

Learn to appreciate your employees. Management made no effort to reach out to drivers to inform them of the slow work situation or what they intended to do about it. Drivers feel taken advantage of and because of this guys quit frequently. This company is concerned only with profit and not with how they are ruining the financial situations of the drivers who work hard for them to EARN them that profit. This will never change, not future plans for benefits or dedicated routes to keep good hard working drivers earning a barely living wage.

    Pros

Easy to get hired. You get an office with a view, and one you can set the temperature and select the radio station (i.e. your own vehicle).

    Cons

Expect to work long hours using active drive time for meal breaks but don't over hydrate because bathroom breaks are not a given. There is no concern about the individual drivers daily health or consideration of driver fatigue and burn out. This company will work you each and everyday until you plead for mercy.

New drivers are set up to fail. Each driver is Issued a $20 upright dolly regardless of the type of vehicle they drive. In my case, I am consistently expected to move large loads, including picks that go up to 1000 lbs or more. Then dispatchers and customer service ask why it takes so long to load and unload. One cooler is provided but specimens are picked up with various temperature requirements.

Communication with drivers is limited to what is on the dispatched ticket. No other information about the health or mission of the company is shared with the drivers unless it is sought out or you hang out in the office on your own time and absorb through osmosis. The radios to communicate don't work most of the time, so you must have a cell phone with a minimum of 250 minutes per month. This is not reimbursed by the company, but if you try to go without it, you'll be in a world of hurt. There are no benefits, paid sick leave or paid holidays. You may earn one week of vacation in your second year of service as long as you don't exceed too many unpaid days off.

Plan to get your oil changed at least once a month if not twice a month, but this must be on your own time. You are also expected to gas up and wash your car on your own time, preferably prior to your shift. You may be expected to start at 7 a.m., but the clock doesn't start, and the mileage doesn't start until you hit your first pick location. Everything stops when you hit drop at your last ticket, even if you're 45 minutes from your home, and it takes you 10 minutes to walk from your car to the person that must sign for the delivery.

Quicksilver states that you get reimbursed for mileage, but it is not above and beyond the percentage that you are given for each run. The amount of your reimbursed mileage us up the their discretion. Do not expect that every trip to the office, even if for faulty equipment will be considered reimbursable.

    Advice to Management

Implement a 30 day 90 day and yearly review for each driver. Utilize this time to gain essential feedback from drivers to gain a better understanding of how both sides can create a better Quicksilver for the future.

    Pros

none whatsoever. everybody in office hides from you and always are negative or need a favor

    Cons

cant pay your bills and try to pay there portion that they should be helping with. you had to have an insurance with there name on your registration, no insurance company would bind it except one of there's. gas is 50 bucks every 2 days and management appreciates nothing

    Advice to Management

take those 1000 dollar bonuses and give them to loyal workers before they turn un loyal

    Pros

Easy to get a job. They have an incredible turnover so you can get hired very easily. The company is growing and is always looking for drivers.

    Cons

Low pay; you don't know what a run pays. Have to leave sticker on car when off duty. They don' keep you in your area. Too many unnecessary miles driven. Your better off with a 1099 job and getting deductions.

    Advice to Management

I'm not your boyfriend or husband or son. Be more professional.

    Pros

Working in the office is a great experience. Owners and other high ups are accessible and value good ideas. Good workers are recognized. Positions are almost always filled from within.

    Cons

There aren't a lot of job openings available in the office. Most positions are hired from which is great but can be difficult to obtain a job here at any given time. Jump at any chance. Drivers are always wanted.

    Advice to Management

    Keep it up

    Pros

Hours are good. Pay is fair but could be better. Certain office personnel are fabulous and pleasant to work with.

    Cons

Verbal abuse by supervisors is normal, has no problem jeopardizing the safety of employees so that the job is accomplished. TERRIBLE benefits, no pension, no 401K, no health care, no sick time and very limited vacation time. Employee burn out happens very quickly.

    Advice to Management

Quicksilver needs to focus on the health and welfare of their employees by offering a benefits package, better vacation/sick time package and a better salary. You need to VALUE your employees more.
