I have been working at QuikTrip full-time (more than a year)

    Pros

Compensation Is Great. They take good care of their employees.

    Cons

There will not be a work-life balance. If you plan to be a manager, your time will be dedicated to QT

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Let's work on finding a way for the new wave of workforce people (millennials) to have a Work-Life balance.

Current Employee - Extra Relief Clerk in Woodstock, GA

I have been working at QuikTrip

    Pros

Competative pay, bonuses for all, anual pay raise, easy to get time off, hours are availible if you want them, get pay raise within 3 moths if you go to extra relief. Hard workers are high in demand and word spreads quickly if you are good while on extra relief.you finde out who are your friends and enamies quickly. Some managers are awsome hard working friendly realistic leaders. Is a good paying job If you stick with it.

    Cons

Some managers are not leaders at all. pass the buck culture, long time workers tend to be complacent. Some managers are masters of finding ways to blame you and avoid work for them or thier buddys. Promotion tends to depend on who you know rather than what. Extra relief can often = extra grief. Some times you get sent to oposite side af city to cover callouts. Certin stores are partial stores ( partially stocked and staffed). On extra relief at some stores they expect you to do all 7 days work they have not bothered to do the last 6 days in the one day you are there.in some stores When they see you are extra relief they give you all the hard tasks while usual employees relax. Sometimes asking certin employees to do the minimum is too much to ask. Get stuck in the kitchen when no one else wants to do it wven if they are supposed to. Some managers ask you to do what they say not what they do and that thier rules apply to everyone but themselves. No breaks at all or seats. Baisicly retail.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Set up impartial feed back system and review it daily. To find out who the bad employees are. The only thing worse than making a bad employee angry by making them do thier job, is making a good employee unhappy by not punashing bad employees or rewarding good ones For thoer hard work.

I have been working at QuikTrip part-time (more than a year)

    Pros

Fairly reasonable work and a good environment. Scheduling is easy with the right manager. Nice benefits and good pay for part time.

    Cons

A lot of physical work with not much time for breaks or rest. Can sometimes be unpredictable. ER Program needs to be monitored more closely.

I have been working at QuikTrip

    Pros

For Part time employees- flex. schedule, tuition reimb., after working their long enough you'll get benefits(insurance, 401k, etc...), decent hourly pay w/ bonuses, getting to work/interact with a wide range of people .
Most of your coworkers are decent people, but this can vary from store to store.

    Cons

The company itself I think takes what it does to seriously(especially some store managers), but for the most part most managers/employees are genuinely awesome people.
You are on your feet the whole time; it sucks for the first few weeks, but you get used to it.
You don't get mandatory "breaks", but there is down time in every shift which should give you a chance to take break and eat some grub.
IF you end up getting a job for QT, every shift you will have the rude, disrespectful, ahole of a customer. Don't let these people get to you, and learn to sweat the small things.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

The employees at the store they're at know what they sell and don't sell. Let the employees tweak things as they see fit.
Have a little bit more employee input in problem solving.

I have been working at QuikTrip part-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

You can receive very large bonuses even for part time after 6 months. You can take a leave with almost no question and they will still let you start work. Potential to learn from several different management styles and work with many different team member personalities and work ethic.

    Cons

Managers often do not give clerks the freedom to eat food if they are working in a busy store during an 8 hour shift.
Pay is by the hour and only based on how many years you have been with the company unless you get promoted. I can work harder or not harder than my team members, but pay is still based on years with the company which creates little incentive.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Continue to look for ways to encourage and train employees in your store as there are many new employees being hired because of the kitchens. Either come up with a game plan during your shift or allow your clerks to create. Do not just let the clerks run around aimlessly with out direction. Make and effort to ensure clerks are able to eat during their shift.

    Pros

Tuition Assistance, Monthly and Bi-annual bonuses, 15 sick days a year with no doctor's note required, great pay

    Cons

Quiktrip hiring managers are hiring too many people that aren't keeping the work standards the company once had.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Current Employee - Assistant Manager in Tulsa, OK

I have been working at QuikTrip full-time (more than a year)

    Pros

It provides a great atmosphere with An extremely efficient way to operate. It also provides a lot of structure with a unique ranking program; assistant, to 2nd assistant, to 1st assistant, then store manager.

    Cons

This job is extremely physical with no breaks or lunch scheduled in. They are usually 9 hr plus shifts. You are moved around a lot with no choice, and the pay is not fantastic. This is why this job is ideal for more entry level employees who are younger.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Don't wear your people too thin by scheduling too many tasks on their daw list. We still want quality over quantity. Also, don't forget to point out the positives when giving feedback. This will help people not get burned out so quickly.

I worked at QuikTrip full-time (more than a year)

    Pros

Promotion fully from within and hard work pays off. Excellent benefits--everything from monthly bonuses to healthcare is the best of any place I've ever worked. The company is truly caring and shows immense appreciation for all of their employees--a lot of the time directly from the CEO himself. Open door policy is encouraged and believed in.

    Cons

Once you start dipping into management overtime becomes mandatory (although you are of course fairly compensated at a 1.5x amount), ranging from around two to six hours a week depending on rank.
