Current Employee – been working at QuinStreet
Pros – Very solid company, they really have a great product and great people. They have survived during a down market, and the culture is great
Cons – lack of communication, no feedback on performance, they will fire you with no notice or cause, lots of back stabbing gossip, the president is rude and unapproachable, not a great place to have a career
Advice to Senior Management – learn to communicate with your employees on issues within the company, also more training
No, I would not recommend this company to a friend

Former Employee – worked at QuinStreet
Pros – No real work in the DSS division. It was foosball, poker and long lunches. The Foster City / San Mateo area has many good restaurants so it's not a bad area to work in.
Cons – No career potential, low pay, lack of opportunities, the list goes on and on. The projects in the DSS division were unprofitable and required a lot of resources. Most of the employees were disgruntled while working there and I'm sure management knew about it. If not then they were fooling themselves.
Advice to Senior Management – The only advice is to show more recognition to your employees.

Current Employee – been working at QuinStreet
Pros – Really smart people to work with. Culture shaped by elite consultant types and engineers, all over achievers so the bar is high for performance standards. Young, hard working-hard playing techno -innovator types so your workload is constantly changing, no chance of getting bored. Exec management team is super focused and well respected, good to work with a company that has a great reputation for solid business practices.
Cons – The company runs really lean, it can be overwhelming, never enough time to get it all done. If you're not super self directed and able to plow through lots of work independently, you won't make it. Your managers are also under a lot of pressure so don't expect a lot of hand holding or one on one management. Great if your a maverick by nature, not so great if you need structure.
Advice to Senior Management – More communication would be appreciated.

Current Employee – been working at QuinStreet
Pros – learning more in-depth SEO/SEM skills.
Cons – It's very compartmentalized and not very transparent. The culture is extremely bizarre and the company simply does not give people the tools they need to get their job done. It does not feel like a silicon valley company but it's like working for an uptight company on the east coast.
Advice to Senior Management – Share information amongst people, it will greatly help productivity.

Former Employee – worked at QuinStreet
Pros – Quin Street is definitely a very fast paced environment. As a new technical web development intern, you have an obvious paved road to moving up the corporate ladder quickly and securing a full time web development position which would eventually lead to a technical management role. The company has a reportedly rapid growth rate and new teams are very flexible and often merged or broken up in corporate restructuring. There is plenty of opportunity for expressing creativity and working on personal business related projects. The company even provides you with some resources to write a business proposal for an idea you might have and execute it within the company.
Cons – The focus of the company is marketing and there exists a sensible lack of technical knowledge from some of the management. It is after all a marketing oriented web development environment where technical advancement and new technology is not always highest priority. Making money is highest priority, and that might lead to quickly patched fixes instead of properly designed infrastructure. There doesn't seem to be much technical knowledge transfer among the teams. Weekly, or biweekly technology presentations by various groups would probably help with that issue. Teams who use internal tools often are not aware of the internal working of these tools and so simple internal configurations or bugs would take a long time to be resolved.
Advice to Senior Management – Strengthen the technical management and allocate more resources to focused technology research and development

Current Employee – been working at QuinStreet full-time for less than a year
Pros – Definitely a good place to work for web producers, SEO experts etc
Cons – Joining Quinstreet as a tech person can be extremely disappointing. There are 2 technologies basically used, Java (to build products and platform) and PHP (website maintenance). Both are more of mundane work and less innovative (n least documented).
Job security is extremely low, especially in Foster City office, employees are often laid off ! There is no proper long term planning in hiring (n firing). Cost cutting is always there.
Promotions are joke, and only based on experience, rather than performance. Average period of stay of employees is 1 year
Advice to Senior Management – Its time to have structured long term goals and not just thinking of the present. Most importantly, though tech guys are there to only support business, skilled guys can make a lot of difference. Do take care of them and try to retain them for long term profit.
No, I would not recommend this company to a friend – I'm not optimistic about the outlook for this company

Current Employee – been working at QuinStreet full-time for more than 7 years
Pros – - You ca learn a lot as fresher in shorter period of time.
- You learn complete model of company
- One can easily check API developed by company, no restriction.
- Not much of strict rules.
Cons – - You can not grow much technically, once you complete around 4 years of experience with company.
- As per US market situation layoff keeps happening which can put you in insecure mind state.
- Senior management don't give any importance to technical growth of company/employee. Every time cost matters most.
Advice to Senior Management – - You need to plan for Developers career progression, it should be better structured.
- Latest technologies don't add any harm to company.
