I worked at Quintiles full-time (more than 8 years)

    Pros

Excellent training for position and growth/development. Great managers that encourage and motivate. always available. Flextime helped with Atlanta traffic. Offer the best benefits!

    Cons

Some deadlines were unrealistic, several weeks work averaged 45 - 50 hour.s

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

make a Work-life balance available for more positions instead of only on paper. Would cause less stress and job burnout. Overall a great place to work, pros definitely out weigh the cons.

I worked at Quintiles full-time (more than 10 years)

    Pros

Solid company with excellent benefits. Power of the brand carries weight in the industry.

    Cons

High rate of turnover, insufficient support of people implementing the project, poor work life balance, some IT systems are too old. Have to work in too many systems. Changes in senior leadership were long overdue. Need to resource and support staff and listen more.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Listen more effectively to those experienced in doing the work. No favoritism. Review senior leadership more effectively. Plan better and have a more clear cut strategic plan.

I have been working at Quintiles full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

Competitive salary, bonus, commissions, benefits and great flexibility.

    Cons

No guarantees on future employment, only 1-2 year contract terms with a few exceptions. Longevity is primarily based on timing instead of knowledge, skills and abilities.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Great job, continue to aggressively pursue contract opportunities to aid employee retention.

I have been working at Quintiles full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

The benefits are pretty good if you have medical needs although it has gotten worse.

    Cons

Work life balance is none. They will lie to get you in the door and then exploit you. People will stab you in the back and there is a severe shortage of staff because people leave in mass. We are currently 30% short of people and there is not ownership. There is a lot of favoritism and there is a lack of quality and work ethic.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Create a better cohesive team atmosphere instead of throwing people under the bus.

I have been working at Quintiles as a contractor (less than an year)

    Pros

Many opportunities in various segments of the health care industry. Since most jobs are contract-based, you may find yourself working for many nationally-ranked companies within a 5 year span.

    Cons

Quintiles is a very difficult company to navigate and find out who's in charge of what. Very little information is available on social network and no help from their company website on personnel assignments. All you are told is to apply online. Well, we all know what that means ...

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Don't rely solely on online resume for future applicants

    Cons

too many projects assigned at one time, on the road traveling more than at home

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

I have been working at Quintiles

    Pros

Great benefits, time off, made great friends with my sites.

    Cons

Promotions are given to those who will play the game of politics in the Atlanta office. Management is looking to get rid of anyone for any reason. They are hiring because there is wave of turn around. The company realigned the Atlanta office with the Raleigh office and never told us what happened to our regional head. no communications. They dont care about the monitors on the field as long as they pile on those billable hours

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

None i am no longer interested on putting my two cents with this company. Time for some turn over.

I have been working at Quintiles

    Pros

Great atmosphere, friendly, helpful and knowledgeable colleagues. Quintiles really values its employees and invest in training. Many online courses are offered. You are expected to keep up with SOPs. The perks at the office are great - onsite gym with classes, cafeteria (kind of expensive). IT is transitioning from one system to another, which should make it easier to keep track of important documents. Turnover is generally very low, so new folks can count on more experienced folks to guide them.

    Cons

We have a heavy workload, must keep up with SOPs and do take home work in the evening and sometimes weekend, but it goes witht the industry -CRO. IT is transitioning from one system to another, and the training has been just ok. They need to do some work organizing the SOPs into specific rather than broad job categories and add a search capability.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Grow the company. There should be plenty of opportunity out there with "personalized medicine" and the Human Genome Project.
