    Fine Part Time Job

I have been working at Quiznos part-time for more than a year

    Pros

Good food, reasonable management, fairly relaxed but decent standards.

    Cons

Corporate doesn't seem like it's always on the side of franchisees, definitely hard for them to make money due to small profits. Quality has gone down in recent years.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Work to help your franchisees so this great brand doesn't go under.

Standard Food Service Job, Quality Depends on Franchise Owners

I worked at Quiznos part-time for less than a year

    Pros

The environment was positive here, because I worked for friendly franchise owners. I recall getting a food discount, though that's the only benefit or perk. The actual work was very easy, but for a daily rush or two. You won't strain yourself.

    Cons

The flip side of working for franchise owners, especially at a location in a smaller town, is that -- while this is likely just a job for you -- the restaurant is their life. That means that they'll take things extremely seriously, perhaps too seriously for the business of making sandwiches. This can lead to the occasional stress or tension. The pay is also not great, and, even though you get a small discount, you're likely to pump money back into the company buying a sandwich everyday.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Don't assign busywork for the sake of staying busy. Trust your employees.

I worked at Quiznos part-time for less than a year

    Pros

The coworkers were kind and always willing to help and the discounted food was a plus. A good job if you want a lot of hours.

    Cons

Long hours for someone who only wanted to work part time and a large work load. Store did not have enough employees. There was little time and effort put into training. The manager and customers were difficult at times.

I worked at Quiznos part-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

    Small town = flexible hours
Small restaurant was easy to clean
    Decent/Great coworkers
    Employee discount

    Cons

Minimum wage job with no opportunities for promotion, except in individual cases.
Probably, most Quiznos stores won't have flexible hours.
Coworkers/Manager really dictate the environment you'll end up in.

    I worked at Quiznos part-time

    Pros

The work is relatively simple. The hardest thing about the job is just the amount of information you need to memorize but once you've done that it's more or less routine. Employee discount on purchases. Doesn't stay open ridiculously late. Food is pretty good.

    Cons

People do not like the prices and will make sure you know that. Pretty much no room for any kind of advancement whatsoever. Pay is typical american garbage at minimum wage or barely above it. No benefits at all. Seems like the actual corporation doesn't care about the store owners or the people in the stores at all. The actual work you do doesn't leave you very fulfilled.

If you're just looking for part time work I would look elsewhere unless you were running low on options. If you're looking to own a franchise I would look elsewhere and then keep looking elsewhere if you were running low on options. It will not be worth it for you.

I worked at Quiznos part-time for more than a year

    Pros

Not micromanaged, wide set of responsibilities, some degree of self-management.

    Cons

Low wage, not always high quality co-workers/discipline.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Change your marketing strategies and stop skimping on food. People were commonly disappointed when they received the amount of meat they were "supposed" to get.

I worked at Quiznos part-time for less than a year

    Pros

The job itself is quite easy. Orders are easy to make, and other duties aren't too strenuous either. It's nice to be able to make your own food on shift.

    Cons

Don't think for a second that Quiznos is out to make you money. Even the "franchisees" get ridden by corporate so hard that they barely turn a profit. In turn, they're usually not looking out for your well-being as an employee. Routinely, management is bullying its employees in order to make them work more if they need them, or less to make them quit, since there's usually no grounds to fire them. More is asked of you at work than is worth your paycheck.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Work in a Quiznos for a day. Seriously, one day. Then explain to me why a pepper bar is a good idea.
