Pros
It was in a convenient location, coworkers were easy to get along with, scheduling was easy to negotiate.
Cons
Management was not the most up front about things and would often be unwilling to give direct feedback to employees.
Advice to Senior Management
Be willing to give honest feedback and work with employees to develop skills around the workplace.
Pros
Ability to move up in management is really good
Teamwork is amazing, the experience to work with others is good
Cons
Working at one of the restaurant locations is nothing special so there are no real cons
Dealing with angry customers would probably be the worst.
Advice to Senior Management
None
Pros
good people in the corporate office
Cons
long hours, low pay, no respect from management, tried to reinvent the sub, no focus on customers, micromangers, upper management is clueless on what the owners and managers want, in order to advance you have to be a yes man
Advice to Senior Management
get a clue, give your customers a quality product at a resonable price, dont try to reinvent the sub sandwich
Pros
Great prdoucts, good mid level manager
Cons
No direction from senior management
Advice to Senior Management
Get in touch with customer wants.
Pros
-Interaction with regulars will always be a positive experience.
-You will learn how to make a great toasted sandwich.
Cons
-Management did not take payroll compensation seriously (no rhyme or reason to the payroll system, only paid when they felt like it, sometimes paid in bounced checks).
-The shop was managed so poorly that there was often not enough cash in the drawer to provide change to customers, so workers had to figure out their own way to avoid running into these situations.
-Workers were ridiculed for lacking "common sense" when they could not predict the very obscure and unreasonable ways of the manager.
-Workers were expected to cheat customers out of their product by cutting already-small sandwiches much smaller than the measurement listed in their description.
Advice to Senior Management
I would recommend having a unified standard of honesty practiced throughout the company. It was very transparent that the instability of this store was the result of disorganization and deceit and it could have benefited from some responsibility training.
Pros
Fun, gain some experience in customer service, serves awesome food, good manangers and staff, learn how to make good sandwiches.
Cons
Not much room for career advancement, not too much work that could really make you proud, could offer better discounts for employees.
Advice to Senior Management
Could offer more room for career advancement or at least more pay raises, could offer better or bigger discounts for employees
Pros
Flexible hours at the location I worked at.
Cons
It's a lot of work for a small amount of compensation. It's not very fair to the employees.
Advice to Senior Management
Try to make the work environment more fun. Management does not always have to be in a bad mood.
Pros
For the most part you stay busy, as well as training being provided to aid in your growth if promoted to a managerial role of some kind are both of the best aspects with regards to working at Quizno's.
Cons
Ownership, also the manager, was not an easy individual to work for. This will obviously vary from store to store as Quizno's is a franchise. He was not one to lead by example though quick to judge or yell when you did the same thing he did. Also, corporate didn't really seem to know what they were doing or more specifically where they wanted to head in regards to the direction the company was going. Constantly changing, not just menu, but also product, procedures, and ways of marketing the business.
Advice to Senior Management
Deciding on a route that they want to take their business and sticking with it would be my best advice. Customers even would mention how often it seemed they were always changing things up. Not mentioning it in a good way.
Pros
Easy
entry level friendly
great quality food
Cons
changes entire menu every two months
pay is low
no respect from most customers
Pros
Great opp to travel and meet people.
Cons
Lack of communication
Very disorganized in their priorities
Closed units without notice to employees
No upper mobility
Advice to Senior Management
No words needed to management just didn't seem that the company (QUIZNOS) had their employees interest. Hire on board and work for 3/4 months than close the units, big business WOW....
