I have been working at Rémy Cointreau USA full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Small and lean. You get to know everyone.

    Cons

Perhaps they should expand the portfolio and grow the company.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

I really hate being paid once a month. I think it's absurd to make people go from bi-weekly or twice a month pay at previous jobs to go to once a month paid. The stretch is too much, please change that.

I worked at Rémy Cointreau USA

    Pros

A number of inter-department functions, which created for a great social working environment
    Monthly samples
    Summer Fridays

    Cons

Unless you're management, you're at the bottom
There is no room from growth
Would rather keep the inept employees for a number of years, whom are content with their stagnant roles, rather than promote hard working individuals

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Recognize individuals who outperform those with poor working attitudes

Just hard work and dedication alone won't cut it

I worked at Rémy Cointreau USA

    Pros

Vacation, holidays, summer fridays and office hours. Overall benefits.

    Cons

Types of people at Remy. Blame culture and silos. Politics often involved. To garner any favors or progress, much politiking and kissing up to senior positions is required.

    Pros

Global brands, entrepreneurial to an extent. travel, and field input on brand strategy

    Cons

too many administrative tasks, older, system moves slower than I would have liked on implementing new tactics and styles.

    Pros

    Nice people in general
    Good benefits
    Great line of products
    Flexible schedule
    Free samples of products
Good workshops that talk about the brands

    Cons

    Hard to advance in career
Like to hire people from the outside instead of from within
Hire rate of turnover for employees
No real vision for marketing of brands except just doing the same thing every year
HQ in France make final calls and they don't understand US market
People tend to stick to their own team or department so you can go years without ever talking to people who sit 10 feet from you
Love to spend money on ridiculous things but not stuff that will help brands/teams
Occasionally have to deal with people with egos
Have to sit through long meetings that go no where and just waste time
Work can be repetative and very boring at times

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Advance people from within so there isn't always months wasted waiting for some new hire to catch up and understand the business

Great company to work for if you are a workaholic. Beautiful portfolio of products and high profile/ "image" positions.

Former Employee - Brand in New York, NY

I worked at Rémy Cointreau USA full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Most of the people who work here are good, hard working people with positive attitudes. The products are amazing and practically sell themselves. The salary is comparable to similar companies in each position. Home office is in Rockefeller Center in NYC, an amazing location to work in.

    Cons

Usually a high turnover, so job security is sometimes a concern even if you work overtime and go above and beyond. Some management teams are poorly organised, however many are on point and productive. Communication between departments is sometimes askew

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

More communication between brands and departments would benefit morale. A little more leniency with the high expectations of working overtime would also boost morale, as well as praise or accolades for a job well done from VPs and Department Directors, rather than solely criticism and reprimand.
