    Pros

Great employee discounts on furniture, not so great on electronics, because of margins, but there are definite benefits if you want to furnish your place. The store culture is often positive, and co workers are mostly great people.

    Cons

Its retail, so working holidays and Saturdays are a negative. There is always a push to push for upselling added warranties and accessories, but in most cases RC Willey's extended warranties are honestly a good option for customers.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Communication trickle down from management for policy changes and training in sales skills and new methods and procedures is often handled poorly. I've often felt I didn't know how to do my job when I was new. Building a better training program would do a lot for new employees

    Pros

Solid company. Great people to work with. Average time with company of most managers is 10-15 years. Average time of most salespeople is 5-7yrs.

    Cons

Its retail so forget about getting the major holidays off. Also, you work every Saturday and your schedule throughout the week varies. Also, communication from managers is one sided (them to you) and they don't encourage suggestions from the salespeople.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Management needs to actively improve on their supervising skills namely in the form of communication and rapprt building. Just because you're a sales manager doesn't mean you stop selling....your true clientele is now your sales staff.

    Pros

    -Decent pace of work.
-Box of potatoes around the holidays. (Woopie!!)
    -Good discounts.

    Cons

    -Poor management.
    -No advancement potential.
-Promotes work safety, but work can be extremely strenuous.
-Company cares more about profit than the happiness of their employees.
-Went 4 years without a raise, then to finally get a 11 cent bump.
    -Favoritism.
    -Poor pay.
    -Benefits are terrible.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Show more appreciation to your employees and really think about setting up a management review program. The grunts who do the physical work are the backbone of the company and are yet the most under appreciated.

    Pros

Dont work Sundays, day off during week, fun to interact with customers, and it is nice to have discounts as employees

    Cons

too many sales people, dis-honesty amongst sales people, management doesn't listen to sales or care about them unless your a favorite

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Listen to sales associates and take care of all who are working hard to provide a living not just your favorites

    Pros

Fun environment, company takes care of their own. When you are selling, you typically are making good money. My direct managers were very good as well

    Cons

As stated in the headline, the summer is brutal. There will be some days that I will literally only speak to one customer. Be prepared to work some days without making a dime.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Upper management needs to listen to their employees better.
