    Pros

    - A super talented bunch of designers. - Great people working at the lower end, all ambitious and super friendly. - A few good characters who try to keep the culture fun and engaging. - Some very good managers who fight to ensure people below them are happy. - With the right team, R/GA can produce truly world-klass work that is a pleasure to be a part of. - There is hope that current problems mit the company are being addressed.

    Cons

    - Too much focus on working late. Management see more hours = harder worker. There's no incentive to work efficiently. - Poor pay rises, lack of any training buget. - The new generation of management very happy for the already established talent to leave in favour of new 'ad people' with attractive portfolios. - There's almost no tech team left. The agency is turning more into a strategy consultancy. Of 200+ people, maybe one or two people left who can actually make things. - Too much focus on winning awards, and often one hollywood project will dominate the credits which disheartens the 98% of the company who didn't work on it. - Too many creative teams.

    Advice to Management

    - Step away from your meetings abroad and actually talk to your staff. People will lie to you unless they genuinely believe you want to make the company better. - Hire a proper tech team and look after the ones who are left. - Sort out the HR mess. - Use some of the company's recent successes to reward staff. It takes more than a room of execs to run the show. - Stop the exodus of talent and culture. - Ensure people who leave aren't stripped of all dignity.

  2. Some very smart people, some very poor management decisions and a whole lot of overworked and under appreciated staff.

    Pros

Lots of smart individuals Great clients Challenging work

    Cons

Far too much onus put on burning the midnight oil, it should be about efficiency not just throwing hours at something. Teams were too large (12 people on one project that required a team 1/4 that size) No appreciation of hard work / rewards for doing well unless your a technical director. Decisions taken for non-technical reasons affecting technical work.

    Advice to Management

Appreciate the awesome staff you have, reward hard (and efficient!) work. Do something about the loud open plan office.

    Pros

If you're in the right team, working with the right people you'll learn a lot. The type of work you can face can range from campaign to platforms, service & data-viz. There'll be always something interesting going on.

    Cons

Once you're in, career mobility is very low unless you happen to be in the right team. Mobility is very low – once you're a campaign designer (defined by resources and sometimes your manager), forget about having any creative input. Resources and Production seem to run the company at some points and if you're a T-shaped individual, forget about using your other skills. You'll be stuck doing only what's in your job title. Salaries seem to be good from the start, but you'll hardly earn a fair enough raise.

    Advice to Management

Try once to look away from how you can make more money off your employees.

    Pros

R/GA gets big clients and exciting work. If you get on the right account you can have a fantastic portfolio in a matter of months. The teams that I worked with were very talented and were prepared to go the extra mile to create something special.

    Cons

Work life balance can be hard. Production are bad at managing the clients resulting in an over stretch workforce. Prepare for late nights.
