    Pros

Benifits and compensation are great. The people are really talented and always keep you on your toes. It's a great place to take your skills to the next level.

    Cons

Like all big agencies, if you make an effort to put yourself out there and network - people will know you. If you simply do your job and nothing else, you'll get lost in the shuffle.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Before you move the needle closer to a traditional agency model, don't forget your digital roots!

    I worked at R/GA

    Pros

Awesome, smart people and great projects if you're prepared to work hard. Donuts on Wednesdays. Coffee bar in every campus.

    Cons

Be prepared to work long hours and get burnt out if you're seen as one of the 'better ones'. Still very much a production shop so creatives don't have the voices they'd have at a traditional agency.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Let creatives have a break between projects if they're working 60 hours a week.

    I have been working at R/GA full-time

    Pros

Nice accounts, good reputation, beautiful main building, nice coffee bar, talented people

    Cons

There was pretty much no on boarding process. To learn anything, you have to ask a lot of questions and sit back for a little bit to observe how things are handled. It's trial by fire.

Additionally, there was (and still is) a lot of politicking involved. This is the biggest negative. There seems to be three camps of people: not very competent but highly political (i.e., talkers over doers), highly talented people with leadership leverage who defend and recognize those who do great work, and people who are lost in the fold and frustrated with the process who eventually leave. R/GA loses a lot of people over the last category.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Pay careful attention to why people are frustrated and eventually leave, and actually do something about it. You are losing a ton of talented people by opting to listen and buddy up to "talkers" on the creative side instead. Friendship at work is fine, but at the end of day we're all here to work, work hard, and build something good.

Started out great, then had to face with a bad supervisor who had his own political agenda.

I worked at R/GA full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Exposure to many projects, ability to work with a wide variety of people from all around the globe, the team includes incredibly talented creatives and technologists, big name clients, lots of exposure.

    Cons

Disorganized, constant layoffs in a time when business should be skyrocketing, terrible business decisions that lead to huge problems, enormous turnover rate (constantly working with strangers), terrible client management.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Address the employee turnover issue, make employees feel like they can establish themselves in the organization. Try harder to retain talent and learn how build teams that can build strength.
