I worked at RBC Bearings as an intern (less than an year)

    Pros

Everyone is friendly as well as organized. Project specs are given out evenly through the engineering team. People were willing to take a few minutes to educate me on their policies and how to preform them.

    Cons

management was hard to contact after working at the company

I have been working at RBC Bearings

    Pros

time with family is encouraged, time to relax is also encouraged with areas designated for that purpose workout areas are also provided

    Cons

training is not regimented. training needs to be on a more professional basis without the assumption that someone knows what is going on

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

keep the promises of outings and financial advancements.

I worked at RBC Bearings full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

The people that worked along side you on the floor were great. The building was air conditioned.

    Cons

Local management had no idea how to push the company forward. They were not equipped to handle driving the improvements and changes needed to bring the ITB branch of the company forward. This is not their fault as the Executive put them in these positions and did not vet them properly. Condescending remarks, yelling, and sometimes blows are the way of motivation in this company.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

It is unsustainable to continue to purchase companies in order to drive up the stock price. It was proven in the 60's and again in the 80's and 90's.

    I worked at RBC Bearings

    Pros

    -Very Intelligent engineers and Employees
-Some very fun, enjoyable people (it's really a handful of the management people who make this a difficult place to work)
    -Fairfield is a great area

    Cons

-Upper management (save a few) have little respect for other employees
    -Benefits are lacking
-Room for advancement is incredibly small
-Looked upon poorly unless working well over 40 hours
-the only people who advance are those who are willing to have no life outside of the company.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Try paying attention to the happiness of your employees instead of just the numbers. Your workforce is just as important as the amount of product you ship.

    I worked at RBC Bearings

    Pros

It was a very informative internship.
My boss was very supportive when I needed help.
Very respected company to work for.

    Cons

The working atmosphere is kind of dull.
If you are not working as an engineer there you a really an "minority" in the company.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

There needs to be more of a training program established when begining to work there. The working atmosphere needs to be a little bit more open to communication.

I have been working at RBC Bearings

    Pros

family environment, people work here long long time and know each other like members in a home. especially in Engineering team, director is great to work with.

    Cons

the company is a little bit too traditional. facilities are old and there are some progress on going recently, hope this will bring a change to the traditional shop.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

technology and quality are definitely the key for this industry

I have been working at RBC Bearings

    Pros

the way the atmosphere is at this facility is we are a hudge gear working togeather, we also have some of the best managment I have seen in my career.

    Cons

working togeather, sometimes does create issues with some here as to working to get month end totlas and spreeding employees to other work ares and the feeling of invasion of others taking there work away.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

well with some of the talk on the floor we would all like to see a cost of living increase as well some think after receiving the award from mitsubishi for the second time we should get a bonus showing gratatude for all of our hard work.
