    Pros

The people are good to work with. Lot's of industry experience and willingness to train and teach Junior Staff. Work environment pace very fast.

    Cons

Limited upward promotability. Unable to advance as area always looking to outsiders to bring in expertise. Once bitten / twice shy / three strikes and I was out...

    Advice to Management

Office is small, opportunities limited. Noticed lots of externals coming into organization into Senior positions. A little un-motivating as you don't want to try hard to work due to lack of recognition

    Pros

Great location @ Cyberjaya. They have a new office which is refurbished really good. Employees can take any drinks in the vending machine for free. Nice, spacious and cozy environment. They also pay earnest shift and transport allowances.

    Cons

Too much favoritism. If your boss likes you, you can pretty much do whatever you want, including making a loss of EUR 70k, no questions asked. But if he or she dislikes you ( for whatever reason ), your life will be hell no matter how well you perform. It's always their word against yours. Employees are afraid to speak up or support each other. There is no culture in this place.

    Advice to Management

Hire honest, humble and smart managers / team leads and ensure they motivates the team. Don't lose talented employees because your manager told you to fire them.

    Pros

Great people, everyone is friendly and willing to help Not political, people are not cutthroat Learn a lot from different managers is often a prime target f

    Cons

Most of the work is back office, and may lack upward mobility in the company. However, definitely a great company to work for and learn from.

    Advice to Management

Reward employees based on their performance, not how long they have worked at the company.

    Pros

Part of a strong Canadian Bank Large custody franchise in Luxembourg and North America Good basic salary

    Cons

Very poor management Poor systems Poor reward and incentive schemes All decisions made from Toronto, very little management autonomy

    Advice to Management

Needs to consolidated and sold to one of the other major custodian banks such as JPM or BNY. As a standalone, it offers very little to both employees and clients alike.

    Pros

Cordial work environment. Colleagues are generally professional, no back-stabbing, but with varied work experiences and backgrounds. Generally localised. Able to maintain work-life balance. OK for people seeking balanced life, secure environment. Pantry fairly good / drinks (employee welfare)

    Cons

Promotions from within were slow and generally pay incremental is minimal, or did not have any (due to Euro zone recovery). Jobs were made redundant.

    Advice to Management

Transparency to employees. Employees motivation. Soft perks ( activities / pantry) to keep staff well motivated & productive. Mobility within bank.

    Pros

Professional work environment, good compensation, worked with very good team members and learned a lot from each of them

    Cons

Sometimes there's a feeling of a culture of excess, would've liked more opportunities for professional development, the management just does their own thing and didn't listen to suggestions

    Advice to Management

    Focus more on professional development

    Pros

The groups are relatively small which means you get to know your team and in most instances Senior Managers relatively easily

    Cons

Uncoordinated efforts and mismanagement in general leads to a lot of wasted effort and underutilized staff

    Advice to Management

Streamline and focus on strategic initiatives and have your managers utilize staff better ensuring they are recognized for their work

    Pros

Under the old management, spending was out of control, no clear direction Now under RBC, it's integration pain, but should be much better with RBC management

    Cons

Job loss, Treatment of RBC Dexia employees

    Advice to Management

Whoever you are keeping, treat them well, not differently than other RBC employees

    Pros

Good people in some areas. Others are very self-serving and will try to palm off work to other areas and avoid any liability for mistakes or deliverables.

    Cons

Poorly paid. Not growing. Management seems intent in cutting off their nose to spite their face. A lack of investment in employees nd off-shoring is the wrong focus for client service and attracting new clients.

    Advice to Management

Instead of sending roles overseas find some salespeople that can win new business.
