    Pros

Was a great bank with Larry Fish as CEO.
He cared about the customers, colleagues and led by example with his leadership in the community

    Cons

Once Ellen Alemany and RBS leadership took over, the culture changed drastically. Morale tanked and this became just another big bank

    Pros

Great Place to work, lots of change coming as a public company right direction of the company

    Cons

Too much change over the course of a year, need to stay with one course.

    Advice to Management

Keep a strategy longer than 3 months to see if it is working.

    Pros

Always has opportunities to advance. Offers lots of overtime to people who need to earn extra money.

    Cons

Focuses to much on selling. The systems you have to work with are on the slow end.

    Advice to Management

If your truly worried about customer service then stop pushing the need for sales. Their are customers who needs actual help rather than being sold another form of account.

    Pros

Good career development structure and clear progression track. Warm and supportive company culture. Industry standard salary with good opportunity to receive annual bonus.

    Cons

Multiple shifts in management, which resulted in a lack of clear leadership. Integration of a new, confusing loan processing system that resulted in delays and errors.

    Advice to Management

More training is needed on the loan processing system. Steady and consistent leadership is also required. The company culture is a major draw to working at RBSC, as it is different than most other banks.

    Pros

National Lender, some leads provided, some free lunches provided

    Cons

Comp plan reduced 6 times since hire date, pension no longer funded, 401K match reduced twice since hire, vacation time reduced twice since hire, no operational support, increased responsibility on sales to cover lack of manpower in operations, 1 sales assistant for 20 loan officers, bonus structure dramatically reduced

    Advice to Management

Realize the concept that while assistants or opertational positions are not directly income producing positions, the byproduct of the support is increased sales activity, if you want to pay your HLAs 10 measly basis points or less, understand it takes close to 60 units per month to make what most can do with 3-5 units per month, yet you pay for a sales assistant for the LO who gives you 3-5 loans per month? Stop coming and pulling us off the phone to meet with us to talk about improvements you'll never implement, stop cutting the pay, this is becoming overt and abusive especially considering the regulatory changes involved, provide paid training for new operation system, don't expect sales to learn the system at they're own time and cost

    Pros

Flexibility of time, helpful direct management, ongoing training, tuition reimbursement, minimal supervision, ability to develop each work day as convenient

    Cons

Excessive lending goals, support processes not in place, an excessive amount of turnover at district level administration. meetings, meetings and more meetings

    Advice to Management

Manage to each individual on team- manage to the strengths- understand there are various factors in lending processes external from the sales mileau

    Pros

Relatively flexible with high-moderate salaries Fairly high level job openings as the company is reputed to be on the block to be sold.

    Cons

Poor quality management with little vision and spotty ability to execute projects or improvements, even when these would result in cost saving or efficiency.

    Advice to Management

    Get the sale over with.

    Pros

Good benefits, nice location (downtown Boston), terrific co-workers

    Cons

Inept management that doesn't recognize the need for career growth or hard work, salary

    Advice to Management

Hire good middle managers, be thought leaders, get a little more involved with the people who work for you, know that it's not all about you and your personal glory

    Pros

Great people, good vacations, will improve by 2018-after separation from RBS.

    Cons

Changes due to IPO. Cut lots of benefits. Gains are all on top management. After a strong downsize at the top of the house (needed), salary and benefit discrepancy increased. Decision making is very centralized at the CEO due to IPO. After 2018- 2 years after the final IPO sale

    Advice to Management

Take ownership. Communicate more even in these difficult times. Share problems and empower middle manager and works to find solutions. Bring back improvement programs. Ellen Alemany left in 2012. Glass door needs to update its system.
