Pros – Company is supportive of new ideas nad encourages innovation.
Cons – Can get very cold where it is located.
Advice to Senior Management – Stay ahead of the competition.
Pros – Work is challenging and enjoyable. Training for development is encouraged and supported. Fellow workers and environment are great. REC is trying to achieve work balance.
Cons – Salaries are about 15 - 20% less than greater western Montana, eastern Washington. Annual salary increases have not kept pace with typical rate of increase for an engineering degree. Therefore, there is a significant rate of staff loss, which increases the work load on those who remain behind.
Advice to Senior Management – Act promptly to the salary concerns. REC salaries should be above, not below average to attract professionals to come and stay in a small community.

Salary is higher than average for the area
Cons – Trained staff is fleeing, they see the company failing in the future.
Bad market outlook
Raises are based on time, not merit. Everyone gets a COLA raise but merit raises based on certifications do not exist
Advice to Senior Management – Share future strategies with employees.

Pros – Very active environment with a lot going on. Excellent benefits package.
Cons – Small town with few amenities.
High management turnover and no published direction, so changes in plan every 8 to 10 months.
A lot of placating processes and procedures but not a lot of execution behind adherance to them.
Advice to Senior Management – Communicate. Vertically and horizontally.
