    NIce Place to work

    Senior Design Engineer (Current Employee)
    Greensboro, NC

ProsPeople were very good to work with. Good infrastructure and they equipped you well in the lab.

ConsRaises were usually small. Bonus structure was not very competitive.

Advice to Senior ManagementBegin a more competitive bonus structure all the way to the bottom. At annual reviews give options or restricted stock as incentive to stay.

A not particularly good company in a bad industry

    Anonymous Employee (Former Employee)

ProsGet to work on hard technology problems. If products get design wins, can sell millions of parts per year and be in devices that the whole world uses daily.

ConsThis is a no growth industry. Customers and management can squeeze as hard as they want, and they do. There are no perks, no room for personal growth, no hope for a better future. If you're thinking about getting into semiconductors, you really need to reconsider.

Advice to Senior ManagementResign in shame. $900M for Sirenza which today is worth exactly $0. Stop funding projects that have no chance of becoming real products, much less meeting market demand and producing revenue. And exactly why is this CEO worth $4M per year? Ridiculous - and the Board couldn't care less.

    Senior RF Design Engineer

    Senior Design Engineer (Former Employee)

ProsGreat team of people to work with. Very casual work environment. Good benefits and PTO

ConsThe strategic vision of senior management seems to change every year, with re-orgs and lay-offs resulting. Bonus structure is not in line with comparable companies.

    Fab Operator

    Anonymous Employee (Current Employee)
    Greensboro, NC

ProsBenefits are generally good but have dwindled over the last five years, 2-2-3 schedule is great for planning time off. Work environment is comfortable and not overtaxing physically. Some great people to work with.

ConsQuite a bit of disparity between groups based on who your supervisor is. Some get free reign while others are micro managed. Fab managers completely disconnected with this, After multiple layoffs in recent years no one is sure what it takes to ensure their jobs when the next one hits, Bonuses and raises are ridiculously small even though the company makes record profits and growing margins. Review system is out dated and does not reflect actual performance.

Advice to Senior ManagementShare the wealth. Reward dedication and push for equal treatment of all employees at similar job levels.

    Great place to work.

    Staff Design Engineer (Former Employee)
    Greensboro, NC

ProsGreat place for a fresh graduate to gain experience in design and manufacturing. Opportunity to switch between groups if you get bored working in one area. Talented folks have left to competitors during several round of lay-offs in the last decade, which would mean it is a good opportunity to establish yourself and move up the rank.

ConsTalented folks have left to competitors during several round of lay-offs in the last decade. Management decided to invest in several areas and then discontinue abruptly. Excessive spending on R&D with minimal results.
