I worked at RG Steel full-time for less than a year

    Pros

Promised to keep the mill open and increase productivity.

    Cons

Instead of focusing on how to improve our production they focused on issues where we had very few problems and The new (hired or brought in) by RG Steel managers did not know what they were doing.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Too late - They shut down a Money Making Steel Mill they promised to improve. thousands lost good paying jobs and then the RG Steel Management tried to give themselves 20 million in bonus monies?

I have been working at RG Steel full-time for more than 10 years

    Pros

Excellent wages and benefits package. There is a diverse work force, but everyone works together to make sure the jobs at hand get done and to make sure our company is profitable.

    Cons

Mostly swing shift, work weekends and holidays. Sometimes, some managers expect a little too much out of employees when it would be easier to assign more employees to get certain jobs done proficiently without overworking employees to the point of creating bad attitudes.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Try not to over manage. Most all of the employees know their jobs and get them done correctly to create the best opportunity for profits. Trust your employees, we have an excellent work force.
