I have been working at RGIS part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

May choose schedule to some degree Not gong to sit in an office day after day Driving to various places per district

    Cons

Work is scheduled client need, thus work sharply ebbs on a quarterly basis so when you need hours the most you will be scheduled the least.. The creation of a Hostile environment by rewarding speed. You will get run over before you even blink; so called cherry pickers will take the easy counts away from your line so they can move up the ladder, for the favor of higher wages and more store assignments. So-called peers will turn on you, gossip about you and complain about you to management. No reason necessary..

    Advice to Management

If you take care of your employees, they in turn will take care of you. If you are going to pull the rug out from under your chosen door mat, i.e. target or employee; talk to the person targeted to see how true the gossip is....in my experience and over time I have found truth to be somewhere in the middle.

    I worked at RGIS full-time

    Pros

Most of the jobs happen off peak hours, while the stores are getting ready to close. The work goes by quick

    Cons

Schedule changes from week to week. One week you can be scheduled almost everyday to inventory a store and the next week you may have one or two. The faster you scan the more 'opportunity' you have get raises and work more hours.

I worked at RGIS (More than 3 years)

    Pros

great place to work if you have a flexible schedule and want lost of hours

    Cons

lots of travel for little pay, slow reimbursement for parking, lack of communication with staff, uncaring of work done by employees that were committed to company goals

    Advice to Management

when you make an error in paperwork that effects someone who has shown to be good employee for a number of years look into how the person has worked for you and don't just base your decision on what is written.

I worked at RGIS full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Can choose your schedule and accept and decline stores as you see fit.

    Cons

Learn to say no or they use you all the way. Like calling dirt early in morning for help if they are near by or know your not working that day. Make sure you have time for work as the start time for stores vary through day and night. Availability is crucial make share you let them know your availability and restrictions. Bad hours for those who seek part time work and expecting decent pay. In order to really make money here you have to work anytime shifts and they will schedule you to be everywhere and anytime throughout their district. Sometimes make you work doubles as in no sleep from traveling to one night store ending late to early morning store starting as early as 6 am but your night store ends at 2am or 3am or even later if its low in staff. Or its far away 45 mins to over an hr away not get much to no compensation for traveling with people or on your own.

    Advice to Management

Respect people's lives and situations. Respect their car they use to travel to your client stores. Raise the pay rate or compensate us more for hard work and sacrifice. Especially those who drive alot which is all of us working there. Pay us enough for maintaining good maintainence on our cars. 10/ hr aint enough to travel over 40 miles for and back again just for 4 hours of work. Different if it was an actually 8 hr shift job set guaranteed hours but thats not how this business works.

I have been working at RGIS part-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

A few nice people, but otherwise not much else to say

    Cons

there is no organization, they promote and demote you at will, the hours are not steady, management is bad, machines basically work when they feel like it as though they have a mind of their own. You go through several lasers and machines a lot of times before you find one that works half right. Even when you are moved up to the next level, they reduce your hours. So basically is like you never got a raise.

    Pros

Typically work very early (before a store opens) or very late (after a store closes) leaving the bulk of your day open.

    Cons

All the driving was the reason I left. Jobs are scheduled such that, if possible, they have enough man power to finish in under four hours (no lunch break required) and the region you work for is large enough that you often drive 45 min for 2-3 hours of work and you're down for the day. On jobs were you need to drive more than an hour away, transportation from the office is provided, but is off the clock. Schedule is very random unless you're part of a focused team and hours are limited until you've advanced/reached higher apm goals. APM is king, if you don't reach/exceed the numbers expected of you, your outlook is extremely limited.
