    Pros

Employees are treated as the important assets they are. As a Consultant I feel extremely valued.

    Pros

You have a lot of freedom when choosing projects and clients. Work / Life balance for consultants is a critical component of their business model, which is great for those who don't want to be road warriors.

    Cons

Little to no career path for consultants to move up through the company
LT tenured leaders in key markets, which doesn't allow others to move up
Tend to hire from the Big 4 or the Ivy Leagues for internal roles

I have been working at RGP full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

You have the opportunity to work on a number of different projects over the course of your career. You might also have the chance to work with a number of different companies.

    Cons

Sometimes an employee might feel treated more like a resource instead of a person. It can feel like there is really no place to grow. The down time between assignments can be difficult as you receive no income, and may even be required to pay the full cost of benefits like insurance. I have seen no bonuses in the years I have been here, and regular salary reviews are non-existent.

Niche staffing company that is still stuck in the 20th century. Can't compete with big4 nor larger agencies like RHI

I have been working at RGP full-time (more than 8 years)

    Pros

Flexible work schedule; decent vacation & medical

    Cons

Senior management lacks strategic direction and appears mired in the past.
As other's have stated - the company does not invest in the appropriate modern tools to ensure the workforce stays productive and "connected".
Raises are rare at this company.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Change your model so you can give more incentives to your most valued employees.
The CEO states "hire slow, fire fast", but in reality, it's "hire slow, fire even slower or never".

I worked at RGP full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

Freedom to perform job without micromanagement

    Cons

One set of standards for upper management and another for "staff." Leadership lacks integrity and is totally stagnant.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Continue to invest in your employees. Don't let petty issues cloud the big picture.

I have been working at RGP

    Pros

    Creative, smart - solid people.
Unlimited opportunities to network internally to find the help you need
People are willing to help you
People are interested in one another

    Cons

The lack of formal programs, such as performance review & development initiatives, can be frustrating at times.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Be more open to new ideas & programs. Even if "it" isn't the best fit, try it and we will all learn something.

Former Employee - Associate in Irvine, CA

    I worked at RGP

    Pros

-Consulting jobs require the highest level of experience. Not likely that a very senior person will be asked to do low level work just for billable hours.
-Choice on what projects to take. That means no travel if you don't want and its not held against you!
-No overtime unless the client pays you for it.
-Great Managing Director and team working hard to keep you staffed between projects.

    Cons

-Little training offered or difficult to access it if available.
-Didn't feel like an employee of RGP but more connected to the client culture.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

-Your model is a refreshing change from the other big firms and ensures that the right people are staffed on the right projects always. Keep up the great work and expand your service offerings.
