Pros – Working with top companies.
Consultant can work as little, or as much, as the would like.
Cons – Customer consulting requirements change as time passes. As a result one minute your background is perfect next you could be on the bench longer than you would like.
Lack of program to include consultants nationally. Consultants usually are restricted to only the office they are assigned. Again, this risks being on the bench longer than expected.
Advice to Senior Management – Need to include focus for obtaining consulting positions from just Fortune 500 companies to mid-level companies. Need to be more pro-active in identifying potential clients. Cold calls is a must! Unfortunately current admin staff does not perform enough cold call sales therefore leaving many talented consultants on the bench too long. Also, doesn't help revenues!
Need to revisit benefits to consultants. They are the face to the client and every time Management adjust compensation, or reduces benefits this impacts the positive nature of the consultant.
