    Pros

The work is pretty great. CDs are committed. The vibe is fun and you don't kill yourself working here. A great place for juniors to get experience, too.

    Cons

People can get complacent. The pay isn't great. Many people here have never worked anywhere else and whine too much.

    I worked at RPA

    Pros

It's not really a country club, but the people are great and the work is challenging.

    Cons

The pay isn't as competitive as other agencies, but you do have a better work/life balance.

    Pros

The people at RPA are amazing and it is a fun place to work, learn, and grow. Very supportive mentorship and lots of opportunities for growth. Great set of clients and great teams make for great work.

    Cons

Really not many cons. Big agency sometimes mean there are a lot of people to pass work through, but it's for good reason.

I worked at RPA full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

RPA continues to provide award-winning work on behalf of its clients, which not coincidentally, creates value for those brands by winning (and keeping) customers. The shop is expert at broadcast and digital, and has learned how to effectively blend these 2 platforms for seamless experiences.

    Cons

RPA isn't particularly challenging except for navigating its politics. It's been described as a retirement community by others, and that's as good a description as any.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Create room for others to succeed in higher-level positions.

I have been working at RPA full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

World class main client. Excellent benefits and work environment. Great location. Great place if you are starting off or finishing your career.

    Cons

Most clients lowish end. Work mediocre and derivative. Employees very cliquish and stand offish. Upper management disconnected from average employee. Little chance of pay increase no matter how hard you work. Experienced employees ignored and given easy mediocre projects to work on. Layoffs happen on a regular basis. Terrible place if your are ambitious and want to build a world class portfolio. Agency run like they are still in the 1980's.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Look after your experienced employees. Give people some kind of regular pay increase when they do a good job. Utilize employees work experience to raise agency level, don't dumb them down.
Look around and see the trends and stay ahead of them. Lead don't follow.
Get some world class creatives and clients. Your crew are hungry to work hard on excellent work.

    Pros

Very supportive and open culture, growth and opportunity

    Cons

N/A - no major cons to note

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

More clear process would be helpful - dare I say more beurocracy - and clearer agency mission/identity (though I know they are working on it)

I have been working at RPA as an intern (less than a year)

    Pros

-very friendly, helpful employees who will teach you and answer your questions
    -lunch and learns
    -thursday happy hours
-lots and lots of excel practice
-really learned about the advertising process through various types of meetings

    Cons

-not enough work (some days i would have a lot that would take almost the entire day to complete, other days I could finish all of a day's work within 20 minutes)

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Make sure that the interns get a healthy amount of work per day

I worked at RPA full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

Very easy, accommodating place to work, if you don't want to work very hard.

    Cons

The atmosphere is about getting by with the least amount of work possible. If you're lazy and self-serving, it's perfect. If you actually want to get work done, you'll be doing double or even triple duty as you try to move things along.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Get a true consultant in to tell you how things work in today's advertising culture. Then be prepared to make some real changes, starting with upper management.

I have been working at RPA full-time (less than a year)

    Pros

+ Those who survived the Honda review have a strong passion for the work that they are doing. It has been a great refresh for the culture.
+ Lots of really awesome and smart people.
+ The location - walking distance to numerous places to eat or grab drinks.
+ Great work/life balance. As with many other agencies, it comes in waves.

    Cons

    - They don't allow dogs. If you are used to having your furry friend at your desk, then this is not the place for you.
    - You have to pay for your own parking. Its not very expensive at it comes out of your paycheck, but it would just be nice to have that cost built in somewhere else.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Keep up the good work and start a dog friendly program like all the other agencies!

I worked at RPA full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

I worked on a couple pieces of business at RPA, and it was not as demanding as some agencies can be. There is a real emphasis on work/life balance and culture.

    Cons

I worked in one of the regional offices, so there are fewer employees and not as much room to grow as if you were in HQ.
