Great corporate culture that bred positive results from employees.

Territory Sales Manager (Former Employee) Springfield, MO

ProsEarning potential. Great opportunities for sales representatives to earn commissions via rentals, sales, bonus plans, etc.

ConsDuring economic downturn, regional goals changed to increasing number of sales reps in a territory instead of helping currents reps.

Advice to Senior ManagementNon-they were bought by United Rentals.

It use to be the BEST equipment rental store in St.Louis to work for.

Mechanic (Current Employee) Valley Park, MO

ProsGood pay at Union stores. They have great employees that were in place prior to the "Cintas merger & Fresh face policy ". And if you're upper management all your friends will have a job too! If there is not a position available. Don't worry, they'll create a new one... If they would cut the top of the ladder off. "This company would be #1 again " The" Branch Supervisor "runs the store. Not the Branch Manager

Conswatching a company that was by far the Industry Leader go down due to POOR upper management. All they want to see is what looks good on paper & their bonus checks. Watching new branch managers come in without a clue & take" Atta Boy's" for something they had nothing to do with...

Advice to Senior Managementwhen you have 76 years of exp. in 1 store between 5 people. do you think we need you? You're getting paid for nothing, & riding on the wings of the worker bees & slowing us down...

    Micro Managed to death !!

Field Service Mechanic (Current Employee) Madison, AL

ProsThe insurance is somewhat afordable. It is steady work for the most part. Pays the bills. Number 2 in the country.

ConsMicro managed to death. They have managers for managers for managers. 20 different managers tell you 20 different things. They care more about the share holders than the employees. When you hire in they tell you they don't pay as much per hr because the bounuses they have then your store never does good enough to get the bounus.

Advice to Senior ManagementYou can't get the highest quality employees in the country at a discount price. Do blow smoke about bonuses that never come.

Like being a cog in a great big wheel.

Anonymous Employee (Former Employee) New Castle, PA

ProsNational company with many outlets across US and Canada. Industry with growth potential.
Employees in the branches are among the best and most overworked in the country. Good-natured, honest, kind and considerate.

ConsCompany has erratic management blind to life outside.
Large disconnect between corporate management and other employees.
Private equity owned so profit will be routinely siphoned off and not reinvested.

    "Just Okay"

Anonymous Employee (Current Employee) Springfield, MO

ProsFor someone right out of college the pay is great. The company offers all of the other ammendities such as 401k, Dental, and Health.

ConsLong hours compared to other customer service industries. To many chiefs and every one of them will make sure that their policy or agenda is followed.

Advice to Senior ManagementI think that spending time in a Branch without a Region VP or District Manager as your guide would help direct the business. Relationships with upper management would get better.

    RSC was an awesome company

    Anonymous Employee (Former Employee)

ProsI was an employee for almost 2 decades at the same location and absolutely adored everything that I did in the various roles I performed.

ConsShould not have sold out to United Rentals. Not only did RSC employees suffer in this "merger" many loyal customers to RSC did as well.

Yes, I would recommend this company to a friend – I'm not optimistic about the outlook for this company
