I worked at RVM full-time for less than a year

    Pros

A select few employees who deserve better.

    Cons

Horrendous infrastructure and software. Non-nonsensical communication methods. Tedious updates that only hurt their procedure, difficult commute/location less than ideal even for New Yorkers.
They offered me insultingly low starting pay for someone with two years experience. I bargained higher, but their audacity to low-ball so bad was enough to make me think poorly of them from the start.
Someone was fired on the first day I got there, and I was fired just before my 90 trial was over. Coincidence? I would bet money it was not.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Lying is not an admirable trait. If you are going to hire people just to let them go before their 90 day trial period is up, just post your job openings as Temp jobs. RVM's reputation in the eDiscovery field proceeds itself; it is known that you have a massive turn-over rate.

I have been working at RVM full-time for less than a year

    Pros

I've enjoyed my time with RVM and I'm glad that I decided to work here. The owners of RVM have a real interest in their employees. They take time to get to know their employees and treat them like family. It's very common for the owners to walk through the office saying good morning to employees.

During my time with RVM, I've seen a lot of positive changes go into effect. The owners listen to their employees and work toward changing the way things were done. They are willing to make hard decisions that will lead to a better work environment.

Every month the company celebrates employees birthdays, welcomes new employees and celebrates changes in employee lives. Every Monday, breakfast is provided.

Employees do work hard but the experience they gain is definitely worth it.

    Cons

As with most companies, we can always use more time off.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Continue listening to your employees and implementing their ideas. Involving employees will create loyalty. Most employees like the company and are willing to help take it to the next level.

Former Employee - Project Manager - Litigation Support/E-discovery in New York, NY

I worked at RVM full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

There is an opportunity to gain marketable knowledge and experience IF you are self motivated and befriend the right people.

    Cons

This is not a great environment for women hoping to advance their careers. The females in the organization are routinely overlooked for promotions, raises, and are fired at a disproportionate rate. Don't be surprised if you hold a law degree, are licensed, and yet relegated to nothing more than a "glorified-gal-Friday!" And if you expect management/HR to have your back...good luck entering the "frat-house!"

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

You're missing out on a great pool of aptitude because of the blind-eye you've turned to the value added by talented individuals, who just so happened to be women, simply because they are women. Shame on you RVM!
