I have been working at Rabobank America

    Pros

Benefits are second to none with health and retirement as the showcase. Looks for and builds bench strength to promote from within for those they believe have the potential. Believes in family balances and has a culture of individual accountability.

    Cons

Salaries are not always competitive. Bonuses are often way off industry marks. Internal technology systems not as robust as an organization of this size should be.

I worked at Rabobank America full-time (more than a year)

    Pros

Nice view on the 36th floor! They do try to hire from within a lot. Small group so you don't get lost in the crowd.

    Cons

NY office can be a bit "clickish" where the "popular" people stick together and leave others out of their group. Kind of like high school.

I have been working at Rabobank America full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

Its a good place to work, get some experience and move on to another job that pays more for what you do. People are great.
Human Resources doesn't fight for the employees but for the bank's interest.
Learn a lot because of the many different activities you are involved in.

    Cons

No real structure in my department.
Maybe its just our department but pay is not to par with what type of job we do.
No structure and no career path.
Everyone is a Network Technician even if some only work on servers and other on routers and switches or even if you just answer phones.
Changing the titles would probably indicate a raise to compensation for some people and it is why it has not been completed.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Get the titles changed so that it reflects what type of job we do and a clear career path.
Pay according to the job titles.

I have been working at Rabobank America

    Pros

Employees are good people. Benefits are good.

    Cons

Management is totally disconnected from the work force. Manage by fear and intimidation. They give no sense of support towards the work that you do. Use a lot of desired culture driven terms like CRISP but do not practice what they preach.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

The fear and lack of motivation is caused by senior management. Bad feedback from employee surveys is directed at senior managers not middle management. You can't fix motivation by giving objectives without supporting your managers.

Former Intern - Financial Analyst Intern in Bakersfield, CA

I worked at Rabobank America as an intern (less than a year)

    Pros

Decent hours, pretty low stress, good experience for someone looking to go into banking or finance, met with other interns across California 3 times throughout the summer. Travel all paid for.

    Cons

Sometimes ran out of work to do, not too much team collaboration

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Would like to be able to learn more about the different aspects of banking. Would also like to be able gain a little more experience and not run out of work during the day.
