    Pros

Rackspace provided a flexible schedule, great community, and wonderful resources. The culture is great if not a little much at times. Through former co-workers I understand it has tamed down a bit so you are not being beaten with the culture kool-aid.

    Cons

Rackspace's marketing efforts were often misguided. The company would shift focus quickly and often. This alienated employes impacted and a lot of great talent left. Also, the HR department is a joke. They will inform senior leadership of issues even when those issues are regarding some members of that leadership.

    Pros

    - Rapid growth of technical skills especially in support cloud products while on the job
    - Professional Development is highly encouraged
    - There are plenty of career advancement opportunities as long as they are technical positions.

    Cons

    - Position can be grinding as new challenges become less over time
    - Getting assistance for supporting customers from other organizational segments can be hit and miss
    - Changes to infrastructure and products can be so rapid that they can undermine efficiency and performance

    Pros

Great benefits, good people, "bleeding edge" technology? Sure. Recruiting will tell you everything you wanted to hear and more. Based on the percentages, it's more difficult to get into Rackspace, than getting accepted to Harvard. Statistically, that may be true....I'll leave it at that.

    Cons

There are troubled times ahead for Rackspace. A very lost management team, it's often difficult determining who is leading and who isn't. They are slow on fulfilling obligations and rarely hold true to promises made. I honestly regret ever taking a job in the Richardson, TX offices.

    Advice to Management

Listen to your people, be more understanding when they ask for assistance. it's very demoralizing to go to a place of work where you can't ask questions to management, change everything in Richardson, TX...

    Pros

Rackspace is a great place to start your career and to learn a ton about your specific field. Great coworkers and sometimes great team outings or team events. Great PTO policy even for new hires. Vast amounts of knowledge from coworkers and the ability to walk away from your work after 5:00 PM is great.

    Cons

    -Way too much politics
-They underpay you for your technical field because of the "culture" which no longer exists.
-Over-promise under-deliver on many key aspects that would make many of the technical workers life easier and to greatly increase efficiency.
-Overworked! It is a glorified call center, that is no doubt. You are constantly hammered with phone calls, sometimes back to back and the tickets and issues are non-stop. For the amount of work you are severely underpaid!
-The culture is pretty much dead, especially with the departure of Sugar Bear aka the Ambassador of Culture. All work no play mentality here.
-Training is pretty terrible and severely lacking. You pretty much have to learn on your own and you have to learn through customer devices, which can be very concerning.
    -Very high attrition rate

    Advice to Management

Pay your employees better and at least attempt to implement more training and tools to help lessen the load! It should be obvious by the very high attrition rate that you are not doing things right.

    Pros

Good place to cut your teeth, lots of challenging projects, some great teammates, and I really liked the coffee.

    Cons

No accountability at any level, mediocrity or worse is enabled by middle management, no incentive to excel and no recognition to those who do, no real career pathing (just lots of lateral move possibilities).

    Advice to Management

Put the big boy pants on and own the cloud strategy debacle that nearly got the company sold and lost 1,200 jobs. Find a clear direction in an area the company excels at instead of trying to annoy Amazon in the cloud business.

    Pros

The culture and the people you work with are great, nice and available. The castle has very nice office spaces and break rooms; and you can take courses to improve your professional career at the Rackspace University. There is also a gym, pool table, pin pon tables, and arcades to take a quick break.

    Cons

Promotion paths don't seem very clear, they seem to be up to your manager.

    Advice to Management

Try to leverage promotions across teams, some managers seem to give a lot while some others only give a few.
