    Intern Experience

    Intern (Current Employee)
    New York, NY

ProsAMC NETWORKS can be best descried as very friendly and wonderful atmosphere for work, even for interns. The supervisors were very friendly and gave great feedbacks for all the work I did

ConsThe workers, most of them, in general seemed to be little less diverse compared to other places. But I guess that's not really too much of a con assuming maybe the whole industry is like that.

Growing company, great programming, well known brand

    Manager (Former Employee)

ProsGreat corporate culture with dedicated, hardworking employees. Growing international presence through acquisition and strategy. People are excited about the shows that are on air.

ConsDifficult to get promoted. As with any large company, change is cumbersome and slow.

    Anonymous Employee (Current Employee)

ProsManagement has a great open door policy. Our culture committee is the best, always planning fun things for employees. great benefits

ConsBecause we are a broadcast facility there is a hugh amount of stress that goes along with that.

Great company but no room for growth if you are a coordinator/assistant

    Coordinator (Former Employee)
    New York, NY

ProsLoved AMCN. Super friendly environment, you work hard and they reward you well, they make you feel appreciated which is awesome and rare. I loved it there and my boss was a great mentor and still is to this day.

ConsIf you are a coordinator, it is difficult to grow. The execs have been there for years and years and don't really move from there. A lot of people end up leaving to grow elsewhere. My starting salary as a manager at a different network was well more over some managers that were at AMCN for years.

    Great people, unthoughtful positioning

    Anonymous Employee (Current Employee)

ProsVery approachable upper management and you can really learn whatever you set out to learn. Everyone is respectful of your work-life balance

ConsYour salary is very low compared to others in similar positions. In addition there are positions created that all have very similar job descriptions that can range from coordinator to manager. People that have been around forever hold on to work and can make promotion within the company EXTREMELY hard. Have to claw to get promoted and a raise in this place. It also doesn't help that there is no uniformity between the companies so no one has a good idea what anyone does outside of upper management.

    Overall positive

    Anonymous Employee (Former Employee)
    New York, NY

ProsWork closely (proximity) with senior management. Nice non-pretentious open door policy. Friendly atmosphere. Very understanding of work/life balance.

ConsMany stagnant employees on all levels makes it difficult to move up as there are not many job openings. Some clash between departments.
