Current Employee – been working at Ralphs part-time for more than a year
Pros – They are very flexible with scheduling and you can request days off that are usually fulfilled.
Cons – The pay is horrible for the amount of work needed and rising up through the company is currently impossible with the number of veteran workers. I can see it getting easier in the future as many of these people retire.
Advice to Senior Management – Pay better and you won't have so much turnover and low morale among young workers.

Current Employee – been working at Ralphs part-time for less than a year
Pros – They hired me at age 74, and I'm now in the best shape I've been in the last 40 years.
Cons – Low pay for non-stop work, managers so busy instruction is very spotty, union dues for just above minimum wage, only 16 hours guaranteed per week, so hard to get enough hours, hard to get promoted.
Advice to Senior Management – I've always heard it's cheaper to keep a new employee than to hire a new one, but Kroger doesn't seem to feel that way.
No, I would not recommend this company to a friend – I'm optimistic about the outlook for this company

Current Employee – been working at Ralphs
Pros – reliable job, fast paced, never bored
Cons – A lot of work. No family life balance. Low pay in comparison to the union workers there but twice the work
Advice to Senior Management – Just because the company is cutting corners doesn't mean the salary person to take on all the slack for the same pay. We've got a life too

Former Employee – worked at Ralphs full-time for more than 10 years
Pros – benefits and pay but only if you were a old contract employee vacation time was good but you got it all on your anniversary so it was hard taking a vacation because you weren't going to get paid.
Cons – management in some cases never supported you on any occasion. there were always looking for employees doing wrong instead of running the store. there was no support or trust. made working for them a stressful and hostile environment. could't trust anyone including fellow employee.
Advice to Senior Management – you really need to look into the manager running your stores. not all of them. but some of them treated there employee like criminals and made them feel like they were incompetent
No, I would not recommend this company to a friend – I'm not optimistic about the outlook for this company
