    I worked at Ralphs

    Pros

Honestly, work hard you will get promoted here. Easy to get promoted to cashier, and they only allow managers a couple years at each store so you have opportunity for advancement. Work is relatively easy, coworkers are friendly. Good benefits after 90 days.

    Cons

It is a little hard to to get promoted to upper management because their is a lot of seniority, so if that's your goal you may be waiting years. Salary is a little low as well.

I have been working at Ralphs

    Pros

Affordable health insurance, somewhat flexible scheduling, Rewards perks.

    Cons

Full-time possibilities are impossible, expect too much from employees (for minimum pay), management isn't exactly the brightest.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

In the eyes of management, a "promotion" means training you -- their "training" leaves much to be desired -- in other departments in order to get more work from you without ever realizing the possibility of achieving full-time status. This is my current situation. I was made to believe I was a valuable member of the team and was willing to be trained in other areas. After that happened, all I got was shuffled around with little support and the same amount of hours (because they have no hours to give). It's all talk to get you excited about "moving up" and it never happens; it's just an easy way to get more from you without paying you more. You really can't win. Also, when members of management can't spell simple words like "toilet" or "plumbing" then you know things aren't right. I can't wait to get this chapter of my life behind me because as it stands now, there's nothing I want to remember.
