Pros
Good place to work, if you perform you get recognized. South Africa office is a wonderful place with a tightly knit team
Cons
Can't think of more than immediate boss problems.
Advice to Senior Management
keep up the good work
Pros
Entrepreneurial culture, agrression, opportunities to work in several areas.
Cons
Internal politics, weak senior leadership, transparency
Advice to Senior Management
Need to develop transparency and strenthen the senior leadership. Need to create opportunities for development of employees
Pros
Vast size of operations, Good brand recognition, Quality
Cons
Work life balance in R&D, short term focus of senior management
Advice to Senior Management
look for next 10-15 years not just for your term
Pros
Very good exposure to drug discovery and development apart from huge volume of generic drugs. The drug discovery and development process is very well organized with Disovery working groups (DWG) and Project working groups (PWG). Each department can nominate few members to each of the DWG & PWGs. The focus is clear, unlike some other pharma companies in India. They have a review meeting once in 6 months to review the progress of each molecule. Ideal for research work too as the company spends money to get quality work done.
Cons
Management has to be more transparent and information should percolate down to all the members of the team. And the balance between personal and professional life does not exist at all. There are also much more effective ways to get things done rather than bullying and threatening employees. And stop networking and investigating where people move. Keep them happy while they are with you and people will never think of moving out. Favouritism is also a big headache.
Advice to Senior Management
Dont threaten employees as it has become a employee's world now.
Do not favour few and create bias among employees.
Better to balance your own personal and professional life in a much more efficient way and allow others to do so.
And for God's sake, saturday and sunday are holidays. Come to office only if you have some work.
Pros
Stimulating opportunity to work on several therapeutics areas (>300 drugs including >200 marketed)
Develop organizational skills and ability to prioritize.
Opportunity to fill ANDA/ MAAs as they do generics
Great bargain in term of technical improvement.
Great global communication from the headquarter toward affiliates
Cons
Manager without any management skills: few or no reward for good job, disproportional punishment for faults
Manager preoccupied to advance her career and visibility.
Poor communication inside the french affiliate
Advice to Senior Management
Stimulating work, but poor management.
Management work hard to make the managees feel valued. But as manager's deeds do not stick their words, managees feel just fooled and demotivated.
Pros
could be an upcoming generic pharma company. They need a overhaul of hiring practice. They do have some very dedicated people. They treat their employees well with regards to salary and benefits.
Cons
Company has a practice of hiring individuals of India. The level of comfort with english and even their qualification is in question. Management is very secretive and has adopted the India culture of groups and has brought it to the US offices. Management is also primarily of India nationality. Also the treatment of women (Indian and Non Indian) is also questionable.
Advice to Senior Management
Hire more qualified individuals and discontinue the practice of only hiring international and poor english speaking individiuals.
