I have been working at Randstad as a contractor (more than an year)

    Pros

Always the chance to grow in the knowledge of the insurance business as a commercial or personal agent.

    Cons

Have to have strong state licensing information in order to become an agent

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

They was very accomodating when it came to the testing to become an agent

I have been working at Randstad

    Pros

Randstad is a great company to take into consideration what your skills and work history contains. They will help assign you to open jobs with good pay-rates. In 2013 I moved to another state and was out of work for almost 3/mo. I signed up with Randstad and they placed me within a week. I have since gone to a permanent position, but that's the fantastic thing about them. They offer temp to perm, temp and also contract positions.

    Cons

As a whole, benefits are only offered through certain companies who approve it through Randstad. Many clients offer PTO, Vacation, Holiday, etc.

Benefits are offered, Randstad goes through a third party company. Coverage is taken out weekly. While I did not opt for this coverage, the insurance offered now is better than prior coverages.

Scheduling for social events outside of work can be awkward due to being a temp

I worked at Randstad as a contractor (less than an year)

    Pros

Pay is better than minimum wage and a lot of contract work. The good news is that whenever you are finished with a 3 to 4 month contract, Randstad does its best to land another contract with a client and or company that is relative to your skills.

    Cons

Most contracts are never temp to perm. You will find yourself working very hard for a contract with a particular business, and even build a great relationship with your manager but whenever the contract ends, your job ends and there is no room for a permanent position. Even if your manager really likes working with you!

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Find better clients, with open and permanent positions available and let it be in writing that if a Randstad employee works hard and pleases the company, let him or her break the contract and work full-time for the client with benefits.

I have been working at Randstad full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

I love the advancement opportunities with Randstad. Since it's an international company, the possibilities are literally endless. Their bonus structure also ends up being very lucrative for top performers.

    Cons

Randstad demands a lot of time from their employees. It is company culture to eat at your desk, and so you end up spending 9+ hours at your desk. It results in employees getting burnt out easily and there's a high rate of turnover.

    I worked at Randstad

    Pros

The money was great, it made paying off student loan payments a breeze.

    Cons

You will compete with your assigned mentor for new customers, the company on a branch to branch level is very hostile with everyone attempting to claw there way to the top, included the manager. It was literally the worst job I have ever had. I left everyday feeling defeated.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Hire more ex-military, there is no leadership training for managers. People are promoted based on their sales performance and not there leadership skills.
