Current Employee – been working at Randy's Ring & Pinion full-time for less than a year
Pros – This is a great place for people who want to work hard. People who have the ability to perform at a high level and people who know what needs to be done and they just DO IT. Very talented and smart people.
Cons – None if you want to work hard. If you are a person that wants to coast by, do the minimum required and still collect your paycheck - this probably isn't the place for you.
Yes, I would recommend this company to a friend – I'm optimistic about the outlook for this company

Former Employee – worked at Randy's Ring & Pinion as a contractor for less than a year
Pros – Many good, hardworking people who care about the company's future, etc.
Cons – Company is losing and wasting a large amount of money through the Purchasing and Warehousing Departments. Poor Leadership from President down. Upper management's lack of understanding dealing with productivity, inventory overload, untrained department managers, company's lack of social professionalism towards employees and basic standards of humanity.
Advice to Senior Management – Mandate all management attend courses for business management and social sensitivity.

Former Employee – worked at Randy's Ring & Pinion full-time
Pros – Great location , Hours and some benefits ( except pay increases ).
Mostly friendly and intelligent co-workers.
Work is stable .
Cons – Owner has left the Company to current management who has very different ideas for the place.
Employees are no longer the greatest asset to the Company.
MOST management dis-associates themselves from their staff,
However are more than eager to accept both credit and compensasion for the hard work they provide.
High turn-over rate.
Advice to Senior Management – Get involved with employees. Set goals and strive to complete them.
Accept the fact that your staff has alot the great ideas which has taken the Company to the place in the market where it is today.

Current Employee – been working at Randy's Ring & Pinion full-time for more than 7 years
Pros – It's a secure stable company with a large enough revenue to support employees with proper compensation.
Family friendly; allows time to attend to important family matters on short notice.
Friendly co-workers and management.
Bbq's, picnics and company parties
Room and opportunity for growth: I have started as a mechanical designer and have moved to a management position which affords me more of a positive challenge.
(I'm writing this of my own innitiative, I want qualified applicants to know that they should work for us.)
Cons – I don't have any thing bad to say about our company, I'm really happy here.
Advice to Senior Management – Our managers have an open door policy, so anything that I need to say can be voiced immediatly...I like it.

Current Employee – been working at Randy's Ring & Pinion full-time for more than a year
Pros – Pay starts good, not a lot of overtime or weekend work, there are some good people in there.
Cons – Pay starts good and then stops. There are no increases or incentive programs. The culture is physically disturbing. They have pointless monthly meetings full of empty dialogue and everyone walks around in fear waiting for the mistake to happen that will get them fired. No raises and no future at that place.
Advice to Senior Management – Management is aware of what's going on, either they do as they are told or the president or owner will get rid of them and find someone who will.

Former Employee – worked at Randy's Ring & Pinion full-time for less than a year
Pros – The company pays above the industry average and has decent benfits. The employees are suprisingly competent and very task oriented. The company has a good location away from the hectic Seattle traffic.
Cons – If you work at RRP you will be expected to only perform specific tasks quickly and accurately. Performance evaluation is highly subjective. Employees who take initiative to contribute or improve the business beyond the tasks their assigned will find themselves quickly berated. If their lucky! More often, they will find themselves summarily terminated without discussion. The leadership believes people work hardest in a state of fear.
Advice to Senior Management – "Advice to Management" sums up the main issue. Management will not take advice; nor does it want any. I don't see the environment changing. However, my advice is that collaborative companies perform better than dictatorial companies. Hire good people and create an environment of collaboration where teams create better results.

Former Employee – worked at Randy's Ring & Pinion full-time for more than 3 years
Pros – Good location, fantastic people, and a chance to make a difference. I enjoyed working for the company for the most part.
Cons – There is a pall of fear and despair hanging over this company. Randy tries to micro manage everything from another state with limited information and questionable understanding of how things work at the nuts and bolts level. His upper and middle managers live in a constant state of fear knowing that they could be terminated on a whim at any time. Because of this they scramble madly to fix problems that have already been addressed and waste time money and productivity. Their refusal to offer raises has severed the connection between performance and compensation. It has cost them some good people and negatively impacted morale. Judging from the direction that the company is headed you may want to give Randy’s a pass.
Advice to Senior Management – Tell Randy the truth. He may be a genius, but he has no faith in his people. His efforts to micromanage every aspect of his business is costing him money and productivity. In addition you need to restore the connection between performance and compensation or you will be only left with employees with only the most lackluster performances.

No turf wars, teams work well together.

Great Work/Life balance.

Cons – Don’t have the big budgets of large organizations may affect certain programs.
Technology in some areas is behind
Since it is a smaller company you often times have multiply tasks that may be over wheming to some.
Advice to Senior Management – You can never communicate enough. Continually provide feedback. on how each employee can help in the acheivement of their goals.
