    Pros

Interesting product set in nice growing data center space. Great unique technology and highly reliable so you can feel comfortable representing this product line in the market place. Did a good job launching new product line when existing product line became less relevant in the market place.

    Cons

Dramatic downsizing over recent years have left little room for employees to be strategic and creative forcing them to be more reactive in their roles. Current Senior Management does not provide clear direction and strategy to the people in the trenches.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Find ways to reward employees that go above and beyond. Giving everyone the same raise with no reward for performance leaves people unmotivated. Meager raises in recent years were less than the dramatic increase in health care costs created bad morale. Try to promote from within or spend more time training and mentoring people so they can advance in their career.

    I worked at Raritan full-time

    Pros

My colleagues were great, and there was a family feel, where everyone helps each other. The benefits were good, as was the work/life balance. Overall, I genuinely enjoyed my time at Raritan.

    Cons

The growth potential at Raritan was very limited, and raises were paltry. Disappointing, because I genuinely enjoyed this company.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Pros

Company was a small (<500) with a global reach and lots of future vision. They have an outstanding product line and do see the value in emerging technologies. Great project Managers (Richard, Naim and others) that really listen to the sales team. They do have a sense of family in as many ways as a company can and Ching-I is a great leader. He really understands that decisions have to be made, painful that some may be, but the company has a goal and they will achieve it. I just hope they don't go public as it will really screw up the culture there. They started a great bi-weekly training which I think was the greatest thing they could have done.

Truly some of the best people overall to work with.

    Cons

They are doing what they can as fast as they can, but they need to really move some technologies further, faster. They need to drop DCIM as its a moving target in the industry. KVM is dying and they are right. A lot of emphasis is placed on the power management market and that is putting all your eggs in one basket. Diversify.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

See Cons. Give the sales team as much support as you can. Don't impose impossible quotas.
