I have been working at Rational Retention full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

We are committed to creating a challenging and exciting place to work and grow. Negative reviews of the past are taken seriously; however most appear to be traceable to individual issues and circumstances. For the most part a great group of people to work with and learn from. As CTO I stand committed to ensuring a balanced and exciting work experience at Rational for those willing to work with us to continue to improve and grow.

    Cons

Sometimes a large degree of flexibility is required as far as focus goes. This challenge; while typical of organizations of this maturity and size; is often not easy. When we are successful however, that 'home run' feeling is great!

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

We will continue to strive to improve all aspects of production, growth and employment at Rational. The current staff is awesome and each individual can take pride in their individual contributions to our team and company successes!

    Pros

You get a paycheck for how ever long it lasts.

4 weeks paid vacation if you don't get fired one day before it starts.

    Cons

You constantly have to be searching for a new job.

1). You find out you don't like this job. You look for new job.
2). You like this job. Too bad your fired! You look for new job.

    I worked at Rational Retention

    Pros

The company and product has potential but I don't think it will ever be realized.

    Cons

I worked there for over a year and saw things go from bad to worse. Unreasonable expectations, no long term planning, low morale, high turn over.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Spend the time and money to make sure you have a product that you can offer to a client and know it is going to work as promised.

I have been working at Rational Retention full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

Location is decent. Walking distance to a Starbucks however management took away "Coffee walks".

    Cons

Abysmal environment. Moral is extremely low. Management is disconnected from employee's. Company was renamed to "Rational Enterprise" -- DO NOT BE FOOLED. Still the same company & the same horrible work environment.

    Pros

    Good location but that's it

    Cons

I was employed with them for 9 days when I was fired. Their reason for firing me was that I didn't have enough training. They made zero effort to train me all the time I was there. They are extremely unorganized and management is incompetent. Do yourself a favor and don't even bother submitting your resume to them.

    Pros

Location, enough parking space. No other pros that i can think of.

    Cons

High Employee turnover rate , Understaffed (approximately 20 employees: 5 devs, 3 QA, 3 ops, 3 project managers and few client managers),Condescending attitude of Management, Low Quality Product. I worked at Rational Retention full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

Worked as entry-level employee at Rational. There is great communication with the ops team/tech team and with upper management. Both teams are eager to assist with meeting deadlines, and employees are especially intuitive. Personnel has shifted in the last year resulting in a more positive, productive work environment.

    Cons

Company has roughly 30 people in Albany and could improve by giving more employees private offices.

I have been working at Rational Retention full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

High Morale, direction and goals are clear, no more negativity! There was a negative culture at the company, and a lot of complaining. The previous reviews matched the feelings of a group of unhappy (former) employees. In addition to no longer tolerating the bad attitudes, there has been change at several team lead and some higher management positions, and also people with PM experience have been added to the project management team to be able to talk with clients and keep projects on track. People work well together and there is a good team environment.

    Cons

No more monthly bar tab :(

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Hours should be the same across the company, as well as other things. Some flexibility on hours, working offsite and other things depends on who you work for in the company.
