    Pros

They treat employees with respect, they utilize state of the art technology, it's a family atmosphere where everyone's input is valued and they grow people from within.

    Cons

The Health Insurance is expensive and doesn't cover that well, and you can't negotiate more than two weeks of vacation upon starting.

    Advice to Management

Keep up the good work! You grow your people and they feel valued!

    Pros

There's always room for advancement if you give it all you got everyday it will pay off. What you put in is what you get back.

    Cons

RAYMOND has a 1week shutdown every year in or around july. During this shutdown its mandatory to use your vacation so basically you better plan something in that week or you waste your vacation

    Advice to Management

Listen to your employees that do these jobs every day and be open minded. A lot of changes occur because it looks good on paper but if your just a spectator how can you really know that your way is better than your employees

    Pros

Raymond has a great product and is supplying all of the right companys. My experience with them was amazing! My ATL was the best ever. They are very safety oriented. The pay was great and there was never a lack of work.

    Cons

The vacation time was not the greatest. I also would like to add that the time allowed for lunch could be longer.

    Advice to Management

My experience with this company was great! I don't have any complaints at all about anyone. I was very impressed with the managemnt for day 1.

    Pros

Its not a high stress job and you can learn a lot from it.

    Cons

The pay is considerably low compared to other companies for the same amount of experience.

    Advice to Management

To attract younger employees you could consider having a facility somewhere near a city rather than in the middle of nowhere.

    Pros

Benefits: Benefits are competitive among private employers in this region. The only place you are likely to find lower health insurance premiums is if you work for the County/State/(and possibly) Federal government.

Profit Sharing: When you become eligible for deferred profit sharing, it is a great addition to your paycheck.
Compensation: Competitive for the area. Raymond also has made great efforts to attract qualified candidates by paying for relocation even for some junior level professionals.

Employee Engagement: One of the favorite employee benefits here is a free turkey at Thanksgiving. When I started, they gave every employee a $200 gift card just before Memorial Day. These little perks make Raymond feel like the family company it once was, just with the benefit of being a subsidiary of a major company (Toyota).

    Cons

Raymond does not have a culture of firing salaried employees, generally speaking. Salaried people (especially managers) who fail to perform are typically given a "lateral" transfer to a position of less responsibility at the same pay. So there can be little pockets of former managers who exist in "one-man" departments. This can make navigating the landscape of the company difficult.

This also becomes an issue because there are managers who really don't belong here. For example, one manager who stated s/he would "never hire blacks" in front of a group of colleagues faced no discipline. My manager denied an FMLA request for paternity leave necessitating my escalating it to a Vice President. I'm sure every company has these sort of little situations. The problem becomes that the longer the manager has worked for Raymond, the less likely they will be disciplined.

    Advice to Management

Everyone should be held to the same standard

    Pros

The great reputation Raymond built over its many decades as a strong, well run company continues to keep a lot of customers from looking at their competition. Still among the strongest companies in their market.

    Cons

Changes in upper management over the last few years has left the company without guiding principles. Seems like management is schizophrenic. They want to change the corporate culture to something different, but don't know what.

    Advice to Management

Get back to captaining the ship in the way that brought success for so long. Stop trying to mirror your competition.
