ProsRayonier is very flexible, the people are honest with you, you know where you stand. Conservative, so we make it through the tough times and excel in good times.

ConsRayonier runs really lean on people. You have a lot of work to do, and it is sometimes hard to do a really good job because you have to keep so many balls in the air.

ProsBenefits, stability, many locations in which to work, stock market reflects a strong company and good investment for your future.

ConsOutdated systems, poor training for new employees, THE SMELL at the pulp mills, poor performance awards, lack of understanding when it comes to taking days off for family or medical related appointments, shortage or resources creates a large unmanageable workload.

ProsNot many Pros. Hiring new management from the outside (ex IP or GP) has completely changed the culture of Rayonier.

ConsWith new management came their old ways of treating people. Almost overnight, employees (especially long term) were treated with a great deal of disrespect. There was no acknowledgement of the fact that these folks had been doing something right, as Rayonier was one of the survivors in the forest products industry.

Advice to Senior ManagementNothing really to say.

ProsGood communication. Rayonier is a good education in how things are done right. I would call it the "real business school".

ConsCompensation is at the lower end for a company of their size.

Advice to Senior ManagementKeep up the good work.
