    Pros

Razorfish was a perfect place to start my career. They provided me with many opportunities and allowed me to focus on my areas of interest. The work-life balance was better than anywhere else I've worked. If I had worked beyond a 9 or 10 hour day, I was regularly encouraged by management to leave early the following day.

    Cons

Razorfish generally tends to pay a bit lower than other agencies. Since Publicis acquired Razorfish, budgets were pinched really tight which limited raises, promotion opportunities, and benefits.

    Pros

The culture at Razorfish is, frankly, beyond compare. There isn't any place like it.

    Cons

There's little—if any—effort to protect employees from unreasonable client demands. Maybe it's a consequence of being part of perpetually cash-strapped Publicis, but you'll be overworked and comparatively underpaid.

    Advice to Management

Pay up. We're loyal to this company, but we expect it to be returned in tangible form.

    Pros

Smart people who actually build things.

    Cons

Agency without agency culture. Frequent layoffs because of inability to scope work right. Approach work as a commodity factory vs thought capital and strategic leader..

    Advice to Management

Invest in campaign creatives and account planning.

    Pros

    - Incredibly smart people. Haven't worked with more intelligent people in my entire career - Office management does a great job trying to keep morale high, and the new Central president has been awesome so far - Free beer, soda fountain, Starbucks coffee - the perks of working at an agency - Great office location in Chicago

    Cons

    - Razorfish went through a REALLY rough time last year with at least five rounds of layoffs. No word yet on what this year will look like, but the future feels uncertain - Because of a rough year last year, Razorfish has stooped to a new low - clients that the agency has decided to take on are incredibly boring, and not what you'd think an innovative company would even begin to entertain if new business wasn't an issue - Lots of employees are only freelance or contract right now, which is fine, but feels like right when you build a relationship with someone their contract is up and might not get renewed

    Advice to Management

Keep working hard to figure out what will keep current employees happy. Continue to push for forward-thinking clients for the agency's sake.

    Pros

Could be a nice place for an entry level position. Great benefits.

    Cons

It's all about the margins and profits for the Razorfish's holding company Publicis. Company vision? Make more profits. Effective leadership? Never saw much of that. Once a leader, Razorfish is now going through the motions as it slowly declines. They follow an outdated agency model struggling to compete in a more flattened economy where clients understand the ROI of an agency and smaller places are eating Razorfish's lunch. Every couple of years a new CEO tries to "turn it around" and fails. Many of the best have either moved on or have been let go. Avoid.

    Pros

Amazing people, intelligent and hardworking. Better pay than most other agencies. Great perks, work hours are very reasonable.

    Cons

HR was a pain to work with. Several lay-offs throughout the year and the agency seeming to only want freelancers/contractors may be saying something. They need to figure some stuff out. Way too dependent on few clients in the media department. Not that much to learn past a certain point for entry-level positions.
