Pros
My office environment was very professional and pretty easy going at times. Most people got along well with each other.
Cons
Some of the management staff were way overpaid for doing nothing. There was a lot favortism towards some that didn't deserve to even work there. The "true" hard workers never got recognized for going above and beyond.
Advice to Senior Management
Corporate should take a closer look at who you have in charge as managers and the managment staff should also be evaluated by their team / staff. I think Corp. would be surprised to find out some of the things that goes on there.
Pros
Good people in workforce, great brands, good benefits and paid time off. Opportunity to move from brand to brand and corp opportunities.
Cons
Leadership has heads in clouds and either ignore or unaware of real company/management issues. Company culture has diminished and leadership roles have middle manager mentality.
Pros
Pay is ok Benefits are ok
Cons
To much nepotism upper management really needs to look into this
Advice to Senior Management
Get rid of the nepotism and the bad attitudes and it could become a decent enviroment to work in
Pros
Real Estate is in a terrible place right now, but the Sr Management seems to be trying to work with the government to get it (and the economy as a whole) back on track.
Cons
Some departments have zero opportunity for advancement, with bosses who don't give any recognition except to their favorites.
Pros
After a few months, I can report a good environment, good benefits, excellent professional development, opportunities to be involved in the development of some top notch products.
Cons
A bit of micromanagement, poor management of number of projects proceeding simultaneously. The company has obviously downsized substantially through the housing implosion, but hasn't yet adjusted their workload to match their workforce level.
Advice to Senior Management
A little more attention on the business and a little less on national politics
Pros
Nationally recognized name in the industry. Great co-workers.
Cons
Salaries and benefits reduced in recent years along with the proper field support. Constant restructuring of job descriptions and titles. Poor work/life balance.
Advice to Senior Management
Many long term, hard working employees have been dismissed or forced out in recent years. Turnover has increased in many regions. Is this really the environment you wanted to create? And does this best serve your franchisees?
Pros
-people are friendly, relaxed to work in such environment.
-hours are good.
-good teamwork.
-people can get initiatives.
-management is helpful
Cons
-people are not motivated enough.
-perfect place to retire.
-room for up advancement is very limited.
-real estate business is not very good
Advice to Senior Management
allow more promotions internally, need to revamp the business. many ideas are old, need a change for the company. better food
Pros
They are good about giving time off, and the benefits are good however when you're working you will be overworked, underpaid and underappreciated.
Cons
They think that everything is a secret all the time and won't let employees work together for fear that the secret might get out.
Advice to Senior Management
My advice to management would be to let employees enjoy their time working at the company instead of constantly "cracking the whip".
Pros
Pay is above average but be ready to work your life away
Cons
Incompetent senior leadership
Immature/rude sales associates
Cut-throat "witch hunt" type atmosphere
Zero recognition for accomplishments
No salary increases in four years
Executives use fear as a method of motivation
Negative work environment forces good employees to leave
No 401k matching and below average benefits package
Advice to Senior Management
A new CIO is needed. Also, some of his direct reports need to be replaced.
Pros
For commercial real estate, this is a decent place to work. There is heavy work load and not a lot of bodies to help.
Cons
Agents can be very rude and management sees job as th agent is always right, even if they are totally out of line.
Advice to Senior Management
Perks and rewards are much needed for support staff. A base salary with no bonus is not rewarding since the job is very stressful.
