    Pros

The pros with this job are that your paycheck is steady. 40 hours per week guaranteed.

    Cons

The pay is minimal. Hard to move up. Lack enough employees to reach the company's goals of 40% recovery. Sortline has enough room for 18 people at a time yet 2 crews have only been working with approximately 8 people or if a couple people call off the line is screwed you have everybody doing the work of 3 people without any additional compensation.

    Advice to Management

Better pay. And when you fire or an employee quits its your job to replace those people.

    Pros

The race to zero waste is the best part of this organization. There aren't many other redeeming characteristics about this company.

    Cons

Whispers of low wages for all except upper management. Morale is LOW. Very little innovation and little desire to make changes. I would not recommend this company to anyone I know unless they were desperate for a job. Look elsewhere.

    Advice to Management

Allow people to do their jobs and be accountable for their projects.

    Pros

    Employee-owned
    Some very good people
Striving to find solutions to waste problems

    Cons

    Nepotism
Poor managers promoted - incompetence is rewarded
    Cutting employee benefits
Upper management unwilling to admit mistakes

    Advice to Management

Stop the knee-jerk reaction management style! Fire the directors and group who are abusive. Stop cutting positions at the facility level. Operations positions are more important to customer service than cushy positions at corporate

    Pros

The company has a great vision to reach zero waste by finding creative ways to recycle and compost materials. The company is employee-owned and has great benefits.

    Cons

While the company has a lot of good things going for it, the culture is awful. Managers can be very backwards in their ways of thinking and treat their subordinates poorly. The good old boys club dominates, so if you aren't part of the club better move on.

    Advice to Management

Listen to your employees and treat them with respect. Train your managers. Don't let managers harass employees- fire them! Why are you rewarding bad behavior?

    Pros

Employee owned, great benefits, leader in Zero Waste industry. A passionate group who really strive to make a difference in the waste industry.

    Cons

No room for promotions unless you are one of the over paid protected union employees. It's still a man's world at Recology. Little or ZERO recognition for career advancement if you are a white women. The only women that do hold note worthy positions which are more than less qualified for their roles are; minority, or same sex preference, or both.

    Advice to Management

No point in submitting any advice, ZERO attention to what a white woman has to contribute here.
