Pros
talented and passionate teams
best brainstorming and creativity of any job ever
category leader in a category that continues to grow at double digit pace despite economic challenges.
Cons
at red bull your work is your life. there is no work life balance. you're on 24/7. employees have an insane work load and are expected to get it done. in return, culture is excellent, compensation is good and benefits are amazing.
Advice to Senior Management
continue to work on transparency and frequent communication throughout the organization. communication is very important to keep the team inspired with the work load and work pace at Red Bull.
Pros
An inspiring brand to work for
Exposure to worldwide sports and cultural events
Very energetic and passionate employees
Some really great and professional people
Great product and motivating history of the company and its Founder
Many innovative and breakthrough activities, which could not be executed in some larger FMCG companies
Very fast pace of creating and executing projects
Open-minded culture, lots of space for self expression
Cons
Almost no work/life balance (which is compensated by the extremely interesting projects for the first months, until you get really tired)
Low level of management competencies, poor leadership skills among management
Often employees are mistreated and underappreciated, which looks like an HR technique to keep people unsatissfied with their own performance and trying harder
Favouritism
Lack of structure, poor business processes, lack of communication among departments, which makes it more diffucult to run the projects
Advice to Senior Management
Its a great company, and many people work their with all their hearts. Keeping business processes more sturctured, fair and obligatory for everyone, and paying attention to the employee's needs would make this firm one of the most exciting to work for. That would improve company's performance as well, as hard-working employees would not waste time on personal interactions or chaotic processes to make the work done.
Pros
The perks are endless. A lot of campuses have student "reps" but this job really immerses you into it all.
Cons
Set your own "hours". You need to be organized. Reward yourself or seek for reward because it will not be given lightly.
Advice to Senior Management
FMS better connect with SBMs

Cons

Advice to Senior Management
Big picture view misiing from top country management
Pros

Cons
you have to be extremely flexible and sometime management is unorganized
Pros
great pay & benefits, terrific brand & marketing
Cons
no work-life balance, very inconsistent mgmt at all levels. poor budgeting mgmt & processes, not run like a real CPG company with regards to ROI, etc
Advice to Senior Management
transparency & consistency are key
Pros
The company offers great benefits to employees. Employees get free Red Bull all the time. You can take it home too!
Cons
The company's leadership has changed direction over the past several years. The Sr. Management has become entitled and closed door. It is no longer an environment of innovation, passion or humor...instead it is long hours with little praise or pay. The culture has changed as well...it use to be about the living the brand and offered a flexiblity for work life balence. It is not more about long hours with less passion and awarness of employees at the front line by sr. management. There are many org changes that happen several times a year without any communication from leaders...or lack of leaders.
Advice to Senior Management
Grow up and get your wiiings. Go back to the basics of listening to the employees and consumers.
Pros
It's a well known company, fun environment at first, learn a lot of information what can be used later in career
Cons
No personal life, demanding, no recognition, had issues requesting and receiving time off even though I had weeks of vacation available
Advice to Senior Management
Management is out of touch with the field team, they need to possibly spend a couple days every month or 2 in the field to understand the constraints put on the rest of the team
Pros
free red bull, fun job that you can do a lot of fun things with. get to meet cool people
Cons
they always want more of your time and sometimes it can be quite frusturating with that, they think you dont have anything else to do
Advice to Senior Management
they need to ask some of the lower level people thier ideas instead of just relying on people that dont have a clue
Pros
The company culture is great for a young, driven person. The benefits of upper management is very attractive. The reputation Red Bull has carries strongly into your resume for future employment.
Cons
The whole company is driven off of the brand which can be narrowed down to innovative ideas and being an industry leader. The problem with this is that most ideas which are being promoted are either for events with very short lives or are just not transferrable in your market. Regardless of whether your market has interest in a specific promotion you are basically forced by upper management to follow through with it even though it makes no sense and you know it will not bring in a big crowd. (i.e. a failure on execution)
The only way to get a job or move up in your career is to kiss up to the decision makers in the company. The people who get jobs are often those who have the least feasible ideas but have very brown noses.
Regardless of being qualified for several jobs, i will not be hired because i do not over promise and under deliver.
While an immediate manager was not in office during the majority of my tenure, i was often left with very little direction and rarely updated on current events and promotions. I was able to do my job fine but i am sure that my efforts were overlooked by senior management.
Advice to Senior Management
Although Red Bull is intended to be portayed as a premium brand, the upper management needs to become aware that the purchasing behavior of Americans is very different from Europeans. Instead of introducing new products that never catch on (and noone knows about), drop the price a little and increase the size to increase sales.
