I worked at Red Door Spas full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

None. Really. Can't think of one.

    Cons

    Poor management
    Child like behavior
    Low salary
    Disrespectful to employees
No appreciation of talent- hence they can't keep anyone
Managers are CRAZY, did I say that already?

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Grow up and learn how to handle working for corporate America. We 're not cheerleaders in high school anymore (are we?)

I worked at Red Door Spas full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

    The people I work with.

    Cons

Where do I start... management can't communicate with each other, they don't have any trust in you, they play major favorites, and they cover up all their problems to upper management.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Treat your staff like employees and not children.

I worked at Red Door Spas full-time for more than a year

    Pros

More recently, the senior management has taken a turn for the best. The corporate team as well as the regional support is very helpful; they do a lot to further the leadership skills of their managers and truly care about their teams. I have no doubt that the direction of the company now is much stronger and will cultivate some much needed success.

    Cons

Many locations have closed over the last few years due to the change in industry and their innovative service technology is just not there. The "politics" involved are quite ridiculous.. Its a mixture of constant showmanship, passive aggressive conference calls and paper pushing.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Forget what happened in the past and move forward, corporate level executives should show a united front to help bridge the disjointed attitudes in the field.

I worked at Red Door Spas full-time for less than a year

    Pros

    - Decent compensation for technicians (assuming you are busy every day)
    - Great people to work with (co-workers)
    - Beautiful locations and facilities

    Cons

    - Management lied to me when they first hired me (They told me I would be working at the 5th ave location, which was very busy, and ended up putting me in the Chatwal Hotel full time where I was seeing 5 clients a week at best)
    - Management does not care about the technicians.
    - Very disorganized
    - Very few vacation days (even if you have worked there for 10+ years)

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    - Be honest and up front with people when you hire them
    - Show that you care for your employees by providing a clear compensation raise plan (not based on whether they kiss your butt enough)
    - GIVE PEOPLE MORE VACATION

    Pros

Great company, takes care of employees and Guests and provides high end working environment for us all. I am happy to be a part of the growth in the hair dept

    Cons

Hair is not known as our largest department so we have to work on letting Guests know we are there to take care of them!

I worked at Red Door Spas full-time for less than a year

    Pros

As a GSR, you get significant spa discounts for services.

    Cons

Poor company values- don't care about the employees, just want to make as much money as possible. Management is unprofessional and untrained. If you stick around long enough, they'll put you in a lower-level management position.. doesn't make for the best managers! The work/life balance is also horrible, you will be expected to work your entire life around the job (as in, "you should be grateful you have a Saturday off this month!") There's high turnover for a reason, folks!

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Recognize the hard work of your employees, compensate them accordingly, and you might retain people who would make good managers.
