I have worked 7 different positions in 1.5 years with Red Lobster

Server (Current Employee)
Aurora, CO

I have been working at Red Lobster part-time for more than a year

ProsThey really work with your specific schedule. Also, they make it really easy if you want to transfer to a different Red Lobster anywhere in the country.

ConsYou have to be a busser before you are a server if you do not have previous serving experience and you can temporarily get stuck in this position.

Advice to Senior ManagementOvertime this, overtime that. You are the reason employees are leaving.

General Manager

General Manager (Former Employee)

I worked at Red Lobster full-time for more than 8 years

ProsTHE PEOPLE!! Such amazing leadership with Red Lobster. Great brand stability. Advancement opportunities if you are willing to relocate and dedicate yourself.

ConsSo big that it's extremely difficult to make a connection with most leaders in upper management.

Advice to Senior ManagementThere is a disconnect between upper management and restaurant operations. There is no understanding of the sacrifices made at the restaurant level to achieve desired results.

Working Part-time Server/Bartender

Server/Bartender (Current Employee)
Pittsburgh, PA

I have been working at Red Lobster part-time for more than 3 years

ProsWorking for corporate company and serving is much more organized than private restaurants. They are very willing to work with school schedules. Management does what they can to get employees motivated. The restaurant world can be pretty hectic but my experience with Red Lobster has been a positive one.

ConsThe weekends are primarily where the money is made, so your weekends are jam packed with work. In my experience, they are not open to their servers having other jobs even when business is slow. Management tends to change a lot.

Advice to Senior ManagementContinue to do the small things to motivate employees, it makes us appreciate our job much more.
